I found quite childish blacklisting people for unrelated discussions considering we are here for sharing games, but in the end I could not help but follow the same behaviour. Damn shame.

Thank you, and again sorry for blacklisting you in the first place. I came to Steamgifts for the positive atmosphere and kind people, and I don't want to do anything anymore that would take away from that. I wont be using my blacklist anymore, as going forward I'd rather look for the good in people.

I hope that 2021 gets better for you...been there. Quit a good job right before COVID hit, thinking I'd land someplace new fast (was just too stressed out all of the time in the previous position), and then I ended up out of work for almost a year. I'm back now, but man...kinda rough in the middle there.

hah that was my initial thought.. i unfortunately cashed out shortly after it crossed $20k. i never thought it would surpass $40k so soon. so i guess i still made money, though it could've been a lot better.

It was from alt coins. I was in a few different ones, but most of my money was in GRT. Unfortunately I bought into it near the top, sold partway down, and then opted back in/out a few times when it looked like it was recovering (the market was overall doing so well I thought it would recover). Turned out I was just being played with though by a bunch of bots (algo's) that were pulling repeated pump-and-dump scams. I also dedicated 1/3 of my remaining investment portfolio to margin based trading, which ended up getting liquidated the other day when bitcoin dumped.

Bad days happen. Bad weeks and months even. You can't blame yourself for blowing up online on any given day. Nor can anyone really cast a stone because we've all been there at some point.

It's the curse of 202X, we're all in on the doomscroll, and nobody escapes life without making an ass of themselves a bunch of times. End of the day? You're only human. Clashing opinions aside, so long as you genuinely take pause to reflect and make sure your opinions aren't enabling something harmful, the rest is just the chaff of life. People don't really need to like each other, just not combust so badly in their clashes that it does something real or severe. If we can catch ourselves only half of the time we do dumb shit, then we're probably ahead of the curve, heh.
Any chance for genuine self-reflection is great, because the daily grind and the stresses of life tend to put us on a kinda of mental autopilot. Here's hoping you find a silver lining to all this.

Not sure what prompted the apology, but it's nice to see that repentance and humility is not completely lost in this world. So don't stress over it. 2020 has been detrimental for so many it isn't even funny. At this point, unity is perhaps the only thing that will help us all get through these interesting times. I have a strange feeling that if we can't as a county, then we'd best be prepared for the price we pay for our apathy.

All i wish from 2021 is a political tab on conversation and mods who force players to post to there their bullshits so i can hide it because i am not curious about the propaganda of neither site. It is actually not about this topic, but some people spamming general with politic every day is boring.

I'm sorry to hear about your financial distress and I agree that there were terrible news from the US.
I also appreciate your feelings about what you contributed to that thread, but I can't simply forget it. Such comments just feed the frenzy of those who sincerely stand behind such arguments. They are partly what led to the tension in recent years, by giving "support" to those who should never be supported. Even if it is just momentarily, damage is always done. And experiencing a bad day (or year) can imho not be an acceptable excuse.
Anyway, I hope your financial situation will improve and you manage to resist abandoning the path of reason on your next bad day. ;)

I've been pretty stressed recently thanks to losing a lot of money (the vast majority of my money in fact) from bad investments, and all the terrible things happening in the US. Normally I try to be fairly level headed, but due to all the stress when there was a political topic on Steamgifts recently I said some dumb shit in it that I deeply regret. So for those of you who saw me making an ass of myself, I just wanted to say I'm sorry.
And for those of you who blacklisted me, I don't blame you, I deserve it. I've also cleared my blacklist to try and show my sincerity.
I'm in bad financial shape right now so I only have one game to give away right now (bought just before losing my money), but hopefully a few people here want it:
