What if lugum posted a duplicate key how do you know? Or are you just making assumptions telling others how things should be done based on your opinion despite not knowing every fact regarding the key?
Already used is actually the better implementation here, because then you cover all sides, as in, lugum having used the key himself or the the key being a duplicate from gog and him never knowing, and also the very likely possibility that someone else used the key. It's the best translation to the the key didn't work.
Already taken, or ninja'd are not answers that cover all possible situations and as such are inferior answers, however someone with some basic deduction skills will understand from your choice of words that the key doesn't work.
In this scenario, you are wrong.

I'm literally giving you an example. Has nothing to do specifically with lugum, and I didn't specify 1 single thing but 3 different ways why a key didn't work. That wording doesn't specifically accuse the gifter/poster, saying "already used" means the key could have been used the original owner, could be a duplicate from gog, could've been stolen, and of course, ninja'd. It could've been gog that provided a duplicated key, or someone brute forced it or some other reason. I just gave you a reason to understand why his wording was better than yours in the end mostly because you always go after people for the stupidest reasons in the discussions. Like double read what you type sometimes.
You yourself accused specifically warriot and told him what he meant to write in your opinion with a phrase that means exactly what he wanted to say which is different from what you think it means. By saying "already used", it obviously always, and it will always mean that at the time the user that said "already used" that key was already not working at that time. Now if you have any perception of time, multiple scenarios could have happened to that key in between the time the op posted it, and it between the user that tried to use it commented that it was "already used". Op might have activated it himself, might have given it somewhere else, someone might have stolen the key from him, the website might have given the same key twice, and someone could have used the key but didn't care to say thanks. The scenario of the key being ninja'd is much more likely than the key being a duplicate or the op giving a key they already used for instance but that doesn't mean the others are not possibilities and as such the wording he used is perfect, while yours is inferior in this scenario.
You can not guarantee for someone else that key wasn't used, as the user that gave it away can't guarantee it. End of story. You act like no one has ever received a duplicate key from any bundle site, or when some giveaway websites gave multiple duplicate keys when being spammed. Those must've just been ninja'd all before someone even got to post them. It's all magical ninja's. I understand having a hard time admitting you are wrong about something, we all are sometimes and we don't want to admit it, but no matter what you do, you are wrong with this one. Like what are you going to do about it, change the dictionary so the meaning of the phrase "already used" means specifically that the op gave away a key they used? Really, go for it I'm waiting.
here a picture of me waiting for you to change the dictionary to that degree

You must be fun at partys. In this case you never know the exact reason at all and i guess OP / poster doesn't care at all. Obviously the most likely case is that someone claimed it already / ninja'd.
"Already used" is totally fine for free key in comments, because it's not a giveway with an obligation. But it's technically correct. I wouldn't think that Warriot wanted to blame someone.
It could be whatever, but one thing was certain: Key is already used. For whatever reason we don't know. Most likely: ninjas, because here it's public.

One great giveaway, this game has been around my childhood and still fits an amazing spot today with multiplayer pvp and coop modes. 4-split screen was super fun with friends.
Do note to download the Secret Files version which already includes the JJ2+ (it's a community made patch that fixes a bunch of bugs from the original game and adds global chat, multiplayer servers, custom campaigns and multiplayer levels.
