hi! just letting you know that Yamara is right, it's against the rules to ask to be whitelisted.
from the guidelines:
Whitelist solicitation. Do not ask or hint for other users to whitelist you, unless they are explicitly asking or searching for such users and you fulfill their requirements.

I realise I'm commenting on my own post multiple times, but feel free to reply with any suggestions or thoughts on a good way to do the giveaway.
I could post a few games, each with two copies, with one for all levels and the other for level something+ users, and there are a variety of time-ranges I could set the giveaways to. (Let me know your preference for giveaway duration and level requirements! I want everyone on my whitelist to have a similar chance of winning)

at least 24hrs long for duration is what I would do, give everyone at least a chance to join, if your doing whitelist only no level requirement.
as for single copy vs multi copy.
thats harder to say on, multi-copy increases the chance of anyone entering to win, however single copies allow you to give a wider variety of games with the same budget.
also tosses name into hat for joining whitelist

Yeah, 24 hours minimum so people from different time zones have a chance. Usually a few days is nice for a smaller group of people (like giveaways that aren't public) because not everyone can check every day.
More variety is nice, unless it's a highly desired game.
If you're doing unbundled games, be careful about region restrictions. If you're doing a Steam gift, you'll need to watch for countries with 15% price difference.

I think since the group will be small, I will go with enough time for everyone. 4 days? I suppose I could favour those people to give them a fair chance by extending that. I'd be interested to know the norm for small giveaways
I'll still be whitelisting everyone until somewhere between 50 and 100.
It'll be modest (a few favourites of mine that others might really enjoy depending on their tastes, that still have full CV), but that's why I wanted a smaller group.

If you're still adding people I'd be interested to join.

What you and people like you don't get Mayanaise explains the conundrum perfectly. Anyway whitelist solicitation will rarely give you the desired outcome. As I have no experience in such shenanigans and its results why don't you share yours in say a year? Would be a new topic and a more interesting thread.

Edit: Now closed! (19:32 12/01/26 GMT) - all commenters have been added to my whitelist - keep an eye out for my giveaways over the next week, hopefully you'll enjoy some of my favourites. I probably am going to include one or two, even if they have reduced or 0 CV, because I just want everyone to check out some of these cool games!
Welcome one and all, I would love to whitelist with you.
Soon enough I will be posting some giveaways to help me reach level 5 - I can't say that this isn't out of selfish desires, since a higher level often means better giveaway chances & choices, however I have a modest degree of gratitude towards this site and its' users, & as such I'd like to give back to the community (and give back to the users chomping at the bit on here, who are charging left, right and centre over this site to join whitelists, because finding games is a passion of theirs).
Just gotta state here that there is no requirement or explicit request to actually whitelist me, since the rules prevent that (thanks to you commenters who let me know!)
I am not opposed to helping people playtest games well-before any functional release - but I have limited time. DM me if you need me to test a game for you (I don't accept 'can you stream my already-completed game for 30 mins in my discord channel' key giveaways, but I would be happy to help you find bugs that might take a torturous amount of time to find as a solo dev.)
Cheers, all!

[I will close post imminently before I am done constructing a reasonable whitelist for executing the fun whitelist giveaways! Estimation, a day? 00:00 on 12/01/2026 GMT Maybe my estimation is too high, I'm not certain. Once the list is at 50-100]
