What is considered a gamepad to Steam? SOLVED

I really want to participate in that beta on Steam, but unfortunately, one of the requirements is that I launch a game in big Picture mode with a gamepad. Would this include my Logitech Dual Action controller, or will I have to buy an adapter for my 360 controller on my Xbox?

EDIT: Nevermind, I just tried it and sure enough it works!!! I'll leave it here so if anyone thinks they need a 360 controller like I did, they can know they don't...

I imagine taking the time to find out if it works with just your logitech controller wouldn't be long, though I don't see why it won't work.
If it doesn't work, you can always download some sort of emulator that makes it look like your logitech is a 360 controller

Yeah I went and found it, plugged it in, booted up X3: Albion Prelude in Big picture mode and sure enough I got it.

Well, the gamepad inputs are standardized, every controller working on computer will work with Steam.

Yeah and it recognized it as a gamepad so I got the badge.

I have a Logitech Dual Action gamepad too, and it's been compatible with it since forever.

I knew it was compatible, I just didn't know if they would recognize it for the badge.

No, for the new beta, it requires you to boot a game up via Big Picture Mode while using a gamepad, so i tried it and it works.

Most games only works with 360 controller and logitec 710. Some may work with others but not many.
Try your logitec fşrst. If it doesn't do the job, try this:
