Help who has Fallout 1 & 2 on Steam and Windows 7 ??

Help who has Fallout 1 & 2 on Steam and Windows 7 ?? I get this rainbow colors bug wich i can fix if i go in the fallout1&2 's ddraw.ini notepad it and at Mode=0 put 4 for full screen DX9 or 5 for window mode DX9 but then ....
this " ;dx9 modes cause some corruption of movies " this line happens :( -.- argh how do i fix the corruption of the movies?
I use ati mobility hd 5650 1gb videoram ,1366x768 resolution,2gb ram.

So i want to at least play the first 1 in native res if i have to,no problem with taht guys :) afterall i do like Dark Eden,Diablo 2 etc xD but i just want the movies to not be corrupted xD the cutscenes :( :) and the Fallout 2 works just fine now xD

check out the community things for the games. thats where i got my fixes ages ago.

Youll have to download some software IIRC.

What software? a dude said somtethin bout virtual box & some vmware with windows xp idk heck i just wanna fix the movie corruption too...i did try from No Mutants Allowed - the high res patches for both 1 & 2 but it didnt even fix the rainbow colors bug and those programs did say their not compatible with the Fallouts :)

I have them, and passed through your very same problems. Basically, you need some patches. Unnoficial patches. Take a walk through the No mutants allowed site (http://www.nma-fallout.com). Make a search about the rainbow colours.

I can fix the damn rainbow colors by goin on the ddraw.ini notepad the mode=0 to 4 full screen and 5 window mode ,both DX9 but the DX 9 modes cause corruption of the movies :( that's the problem i wanna solve xD
PS. thats for fallout 2, ...the first Fallout 1 also has the issue xD

EDIT: It works now for Fallout 2 but the fallup13 update for F1 + Highres doesnt work :( ....the High res thingy still tells me it's an unsupported version of teh game?!?!?!!? :( And the cut-scenes still messed up in F 1 :((

as i recommended you, take a walk through NMA site, and make a search. The fixes are inthere. You are creating you own issue with the vids when changing the directdraw mode to fix the rainbow colours. I think swapping your resolution to something more "human" like 800X600 will fix the issue with the vids, but you'll get that res when playing. That's why you have to patch up the games.

I had that problem ages ago (as Zoah, and everyone who tried to run the first two fallouts in a modern system) and there are unnoficial patches to fix them both.

EDIT: BTW, i'm playing it across three screens with no problems after patching, but go the way you want.

I dunno, I bought mine on GoG and they must have it pre-patched or something, coz it's fine, and even in my native resolution 1920x1080 :D

For Fallout 2 search for "Fallout Restoration project" and for F1 try "Fallout 1 FIXT". These are fan made packs of patches and improvements or you can just get plain "SFall" resolution patch (for F2), but you will miss a lot of content fixes.

Which ones?Also which patch contains the official onse too? fallout2patches and fallout1patches ???????? i installed in F2 the patch and the high-res and just that,now i should use the Fallout Restoration Project over them or not?or what :) F2 works just fine now xD... and im fine with playing it vanilla but i have problems with Fallout 1's movies/cutscenes -.-

Recent Restoration project should be on authors site link, it should contain recent version of Sfall (resolution patch). In manner of F1, havent played it in ages, but this should be it link (Sfall included too). You should definitely play F1 with FIXT and F2 with Restoration project, as they fixed many bugs of vanilla and even adds content which have not made it into vanilla releases.

These are complete packs, you do not need to install anything else (and probably should not, as some not included minor mods might be incompatible).

P.S. There is new overhaul for F2 adding whole new map and story and it rocks, but english translation is not finished yet, so save it for later link (worth it).
