Extra-Extra Copy of Torchlight

I didn't have a copy of Torchlight randomly appear, but I did get a giftable, but not tradable copy of Dota2 in my inventory. Kinda spooky.

My guess is... did you bought HiB6?

I bought BTA HIB6 and Pre-ordered TL2 but i didn't get a second copy. :P

I'm fairly certain it's only if you bought the BTA HIB. I bought it for $1 and didn't get an extra copy.

Yah, it happened to me. I got the Torchlight 2 Pre-order awhile ago, and got a Torchlight 1 copy, and then today, they gave me a 3rd copy.

I only got one extra free copy =/

How do they know that people bought HiB6?

I think what happens is when you activate HB6 on your steam account, Steam uses HB6's Torchlight to put on your account and puts the torchlight gift you got from pre-order back in your inventory.

Several reasons for why I think this:
1) I once got gifted two copies of of a DLC from two people and when I activated my second gift (back before the Gift manager was available) the first gift was back in my inventory. I was able to distinguish the two because the name of the sender was attached to it.

2) I pre-ordered torchlight but I already had TL 1 so I gave my copy away to a friend who wanted it. I also bought HB6 and did not get a second copy of TL1. Presumably because the one activated in my account was not a gift.
