Piracy is not allowed on the forums. I would definitely avoid it :)

Discussing piracy in general sense is allowed (e.g. is it okay) but everything else is not.

Which makes the service illegal in Germany.

So Blizz games = no go?

You mean because Blizzard is distributing their updates via torrent?
Obviously it's fine to use torrents for legal activities, I've been seeding Big Buck Bunny and Debian distributions for months in the past.
But as soon as you're also "distributing" material that violates copyright rules, it's against the law.

Yes, Blizz uses torrents to distribute updates via the Blizzard updater.
Popcorn time streams the data from torrents to a temporary file on your computer/device which allows you to view a movie/TV show, but does not seed, so no "distribution" from the viewer.

The Popcorntime FAQ would like to have a word with you :P

Their homepage is mostly gone, but I'm assuming this FAQ is the same they had on their site.

Popcorn Time works using torrents, fair enough. Am I seeding while watching a movie?

Indeed, you are. You're going to be uploading bits and bits of the movie for as long as you're watching it on Popcorn Time.

I thought Popcorn Time got closed? It worked for like a day and they announce on facebook :"we're closing bye!", i guess another group got the software.

Be aware, that there are 2 "Popcorn time"s out there. One which is trusted the other one is/could be malicious.
