It does.
I read it as they officially support only 64bit OS, but it could work on 32 bit Win8 too.

My thoughts exactly, it will probable run poor on 32-bit system.

Indeed as stated by the other 2 replies. Also recommended minimum of 4Gb RAM. Most likely for smooth gameplay. Since 32bit OSs only support up to 3.2Gb, you might get heavy swapping on your system and thus get slow performance in general..

It doesn't say it will only work on 64 bit OSs, it says that they only support playing on 64 bit OSs.
So, mediocre to good play on 64 bit Win Vista/7/8.
And crap play on 32 bit Win Vista/7/8.
lol

+1
Like anyone that has ever used Linux knows, lots of stuff works on/with Linux, but every company always has a line of "We only support....."
That doesn't mean it won't work. It means you can use it if you want to, and heck it probably does work... nut we aren't going to help you if it doesn't.
So it's not "AC4 only supports 64 bit OS's", Ubisoft only support 64bit OS's

You do realize every 32-bit OS will be outdated in about 5 years?

We have to start transitioning now, or a lot of butthurt will come when 32-bit won't work anymore in that time.

So many PC elitists here, no wonder PC versions sell 10 lower amount of copies than the console ones.

Are you implying that consoles don't have piracy?

No, what I'm saying is that console users don't have to upgrade the machine and don't worry about the tons of PC specific things like framerate and graphics settings.

The usual argument from console people. Just build it good once and don't be an idiot and you won't have issues with your machine, unless the game itself is poorly made.

It's like a house. You don't build it with sticks and mud and cry when the wolf blows it over, you make it strong enough to handle anything for years to come.

Yes, they already know framerate/graphics are gonna be shitty in their games, no need to worry about it.

According to their financial reports, major publishers make just as much on PC as they do for 360 or PS3.

Why won't my Windows 7 PC run my DOS games natively?

ive got windows 95 to a point where i would be happy to use it for web browsing a year or 2 ago so no 32 bit oses wont stop being useful in 5 years, no sane gamer will use them but gamers make up a small population of pc users

No, the amount of RAM that an OS will use in 5 years will use over 4gbs.

32 bit os cant support more than 4 gbs. So have fun doing nothing.

15% on Steam use Intel integrated graphics.

These users may not be the target audience of this game.

That's not to say that there won't be any 32-bit OS Intel integrated users trying to run this game, but it's probably safe to assume they're a minority.

there are already games that are 64bit only, and when someone using 32 bit processor tries to run it, a pop up will say its not supported and close the game

just a reminder that based on AC3's official requirements and actual performance on said PCs the recommended configuration of AC4 is actually the minimum you will need if you don't want unplayable fps on certain parts of the game on minimum graphics
