I know nothing about headphones but I'd like to switch over from earbuds. What are the best affordable ones, preferably under 30 but around 40 is ok. Also are http://www.amazon.com/Sennheiser-HD-360-Studio-Over-Ear-Headphones/dp/B00I0SCD72/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1404354716&sr=8-3&keywords=sennheiser these actually at that much of a discount, or is MSRP not real?

Turtle Beach really aren't that bad. Especially the Z11, which is their lower end headsets which costs $30, I feel like Turtle Beach really starts to become bullshit on their high end headsets.

I've had numerous friends with severe feedback issues on the mics on those, as well as intermittent low frequency white noise / hum, on both lower as well as higher end models.

Wow, looks like a good buy to me, at best buy it costs around $100, so the sale isn't BS, in my opinion it looks like a good buy.

If you're looking at Sennheiser, you're already out of the realm of cheap in my books.

I honestly wouldn't recommend any of the sennheisers under $500.
Tried some and didn't like them as much as my DJ ones from them.
Don't go cheap if you really are looking for sound quality.

Creative Tactic3D Alpha. Around $40, very lightweight and extremely comfy, around ear, no sweaty ears, soft cushions. Very flexible build, can fit anyone comfortably, big / huge head or not. Sound quality is amazing for something sub-$70, but you can tell more cost went into that than build quality. They're a bit fragile, but if you don't sit on them, or yank the cord or anything dumb like that, they'll serve you very well for a few years (as mine have). Another plus is that it has a detachable boom mic, with a mini-jack (which has pretty good quality). It also includes a USB dongle with digital audio processing built in - think like a mini-soundcard that can process sound and up quality a little. You plug the cable with two mini-jacked ends coming off the headset into it.

This is the cheapest model of three with the same build type. You've also got the Sigma, and the Omega (wireless variant). Check Creative's site for info on the differences, though I believe a Sigma is around $60, and an omega $70+ (could be wrong though).

i have a $25 pair of Sony headphone I bought from walmart, that i have been using for over a year now. I play around with music a lot and they've worked perfectly fine for me. no difference in quality than any other headphone i've used, but they are more comfortable on my head.

I'm not sure if these are the headphones, as the ones I have are a gift, but they have the same look (outside of the videos), and this is where I first saw them again.
They've lasted 9+ months already of 10+ hours a day of use, tired up, thrown around, torn, cut, everything.
Comfort is so good I forget I have them in, but if you have a small ear they could be an issue from what I have heard, although someone else I know who has them has one and is fine with them...

Sound quality is as if it's real life in my opinion too.
Perfect for gaming and music from my experience...

Only issue is there is no mic, but usually built in mics are awful.
And for comparison, Sony MDR-V6's lasted me only two to three months of less abusive use, comfort was lower (hurt after a few hours, I didn't buy the extra pads), and sound quality is a little better on these. Not by much, but more in the sense of a surround-sound type feel vs headphones.
Costed my friend $20-30, so with the look (outside the video), I would assume these are the same. I'm sure they didn't get them from here, but it's where I saw them online first.

TL;DR - I'm an abusive piece of shit to headphones, and these are absolutely fantastic.

Superlux HD668B

Sennheiser isn't really worth considering until you get to the HD518

Nice, someone who appreciates Sexylux™. I use a white Superlux 661, balanced sound spectrum and fairly ample bass (not for everyone though). Really sturdy too, as I am using it up to this day for almost 2 years (although I need to replace the pads most of the time, my sweating issue).

Too me i have had my fair share of gaming headphones
i have had 3 different pair of turtle beaches and on all of them the left ear goes out
so i hate turtle beaches
i have had 2 creative sound Creative Sound Blaster Tactic3D Omega Wireless Gaming Headset and Creative Sound Blaster Recon3D Omega Wireless Gaming Headset both are really good headsets i have given both to friends they are around 100 bucks

I have got my hands on a pair of Logitech G930 USB Connector Wireless Gaming Headset and so far the battery life on them is great the sound is wonderful and its like 109 bucks on newegg.com
and to me they are on par with my friends Astro A50
but i would not spend 300 bucks on a pair of headsets
