Isn't an aimbot just a more advanced version of aim assist?

Terrible advice. If his pecker is up all the time, he's likely got a bad case of blue balls, which is probably why he's so angry. What he needs is "relief".

Wise words. Blinding stuff, even! I think you've pulled it off: This post really tugs at the meat of the problem.

These epiphanies that I have ... they're almost orgasmic.

not quite, one uses the equivalent of mouse acceleration and deceleration over targets as well as a larger hit-box detection whereas the other is programmed to lock onto a specific value given (e.g. the headshot hit-box of a enemy could be given the value 0C326 and the aimbot would cause that value to be placed at the center of your screen)

... believe what you want to, however, all i know is that is how i created one for my major project in multimedia this year and it worked perfectly. I tend not to say things that i am not sure about...

No. My question is: Will there be aim assist for controller on PC?
Aim assist not aimbot, gosh.

You clearly have no idea what you're talking about.

it is.. maybe you like to mastu... at the same time perhaps?

You aren't funny. Damn sick people like you, why the hell would I masturbate while playing games. I never have masturbated nor will I ever.
Comment has been collapsed.
Lol why don't you masturbate?
Edit: I'll tell you why I masturbate, I'm lonesome and it stops the feelings of remorse.

what sonofrage said, + the fact that you want aim assist.. are you handicapped or something? use the mouse..
Comment has been collapsed.
As a option for the single player? Why the hell not?
Comment has been collapsed.
You aren't alone, I love aim assist for when I'm playing on my SHIELD. So long as it is SP only and controlled by an option setting, there's really no harm.
Comment has been collapsed.
Dude, you want to play a shooter, on a PC, using a controller...
You should expect this kind of answers.
Comment has been collapsed.
I was going to complain about the lack of steering wheel support, but on reflection that seemed a bit harsh.
Can understand that some people prefer to kick back in a comfy chair to play an FPS, but for me there just isn't enough accuracy in a controller to make these type of games enjoyable. Each to their own though :)
Comment has been collapsed.
Yeah people use any kind of excuse to behave like a dick and feel superior to others.
Comment has been collapsed.
In fact i also enjoy to play games in the couch with a controller.
I just told him he should expect such answers.

Payday 2 has aim assist with a controller plugged in, so other devs might do it.
Comment has been collapsed.
You clearly have no idea how aim assist works. Or an aimbot for that matter.
And you wanna know what's "fuking retarded"? People who can't accept that some people want to do stuff differently. Go ahead and feel superior because you'd never play a freaking game with a pad.
Comment has been collapsed.
Of course it's the best way. But people act so freaking immature all the time it makes me sick. He wants to use a pad, so be it. Answer his question or move along.
And I'm saying what I'm saying. Aim assist is not the same as an aimbot. Period. An aimbot will always stick to the specified body part (mostly head) and will most of the time come with other features like nospread and so on. Aim assist will just "plop" on the body you're aiming at a bit faster. You'll still have to aim yourself, shoot properly (short bursts) and so on. It makes sense to have this on consoles. But it can be disabled to on specific servers. It's a feature either everyone uses or nobody. How well that would work on a PC platform in terms of balance / fairness is a different topic.

"An aimbot is a type of computer game bot used in first-person shooter games to provide varying levels of target acquisition assistance to the player. It is sometimes incorporated as a feature of a game (where it is usually called "auto-aim" or "aiming assist"). However, making the aim-bot more powerful in multiplayer games is considered cheating, as it gives the user an advantage over unaided players."
Wikipedia disagrees with you.
Comment has been collapsed.
Now you're really making me laugh quoting Wikipedia and so on. As if they would be a reliable site. The article doesn't even have a specfic section about console games, it's just a joke. If you'd take a look at the top: "This article does not cite any references or sources."
This is really all that needs to be said about this.
Comment has been collapsed.
Does this constitute as a controller?
Must be nice to have auto aim there, controller in FPS are for peasants

It is usually featured in the options somewhere (probably also was for BO2 but hidden under a load of BS but that is just speculation as i never played it). Regardless you should be able to turn it on with the .ini file just like you can change fov through it.
Comment has been collapsed.
As I stated (please read next time), I never played it (this is in reference to CoDBO2), So that would be a no, however, i know that CoDMW, CoDWaW, CoDMW2 and CoDBO all had the option (in the case of MW ad WaW you had to use the .ini file but you were still able to put on the option).
The reason I even tried finding the option was to prove it to a friend who played it on xbox360 as the xbox360 version was simply a standardised ported pc version with a set .ini file instead of an options menu. Because of this, I have every reason to believe you can turn the option on again using at least the .ini file, even if you have to manually write the code line yourself (which isn't anywhere near as hard as it seems as they don't use encoding software).

It's funny how people can't answer a simple question... Personally I would never play an FPS with a controller (I've tried and I feel miserable), but no one asked for an opinion, which most people seem to have missed.
In regards to your question, I googled and I found no information confirming aim assist for controllers. Since the game isn't released yet, the only option you have is to wait until it's released and then ask again, probably on the game's steam forum or somewhere else, where people are less elitist.

Good question by OP. He may want to play on his couch. Me ... I just suck at FPS games but don't want to cheat. Aim assist is a nice in-between.

Started playing GTA V on the 360..... It's funny, all i have to do is press the left trigger, and the crosshair will go straight to the guy's chest.
Kinda beats the purpose of the shootouts all together, nice bait though.

I doubt aim assist will be available for the PC version. If you want aim assist get the console version.

Not sure but wow at all of you guys bashing him for not using a mouse....shameful.
Nothing wrong with controllers, hell PC gamers that have been around a long time know that even in the 90's controllers were used in PC gaming. It's not a console thing only, you aren't a superior person for using a mouse, nor are you edgy or cool for bashing the use of controllers, you just sound controlling, more choices = Better for all.

No offense but honestly thats up to him/her, its not like this is a highly skilled shooter and also " it was really hard to play campaign because".
Some people like to play single player FPS games with controllers for comfort reasons, I don't personally but thats no reason to jump on someone over a preference, its not harming you....maybe he doesn't care if it hinders him a bit in single player...
Comment has been collapsed.
I know people irl that only play the single player modes in those games, and no I am not just saying that...I find it odd also but I sorta understand, the MP is full of brats, one of the worst online games...
He never mentioned using a controller in MP, even if he did maybe he is better with it then mouse? Hell I am sure some gamers that use controllers are better then some that use a mouse actually....its not like you wont find shit players that use a mouse on your team.
Comment has been collapsed.
Honestly if you are that afraid of a controller gamer playing on your team join a clan/guild thing or find some skilled servers, me and most of the people I know don't take games this seriously online, no point to it really, usually there are some bad players but I would not let that ruin the fun.
I still think you are assuming to much, hell if I was better on a controller I would play FPS games with a controller in the comfort of my bed....
Comment has been collapsed.
Oh wow, come on...first off I never said you were scared, second off are you calling him a kid because he uses a controller? That means I am also a kid, a 24 year old one apparently :-P.
Why assume the worst anyways? Not all kids are bad at games, hell I think I use to be better as a kid...I played more thus was better.
Comment has been collapsed.
I don't pay that close attention to user names usually, I feel it keeps me more fair and balanced like Fox news(Kidding....btw bout the fox news part lol).
Really? Never met a kid thats good at games, I really find that hard to believe....but hey who am I to say, I have seen many myself though.

+1
I only buy games that have good single player experiences because of those brats. They have ruined online gaming for me. If I'm playing C&C then it's not a problem but Garry's Mod is full of those damn kids. I'll still play online but only if the game has a good single player campaign.

I personally have better things to concern myself with, seems really odd to care that much about a guy using a controller....

"It's a FPS. Not using a mouse on it will hinder your gaming, not help it."
It's a COD.. It's much easier to play COD Ghosts with the controller. And I'm not playing with it because of aim assist either.. The mouse feels the same exact way. And before anyone calls me a "peasant" for using a controller, I play with the mouse/keyboard on Battlefield 3.

Ehh to be honest, as someone who hates controllers aim assist can make it bearable.
So I kinda see where he is coming from.

I was wondering about this because in Black Ops 2 (which I already finished) When I plugged in my controller it was really hard to play campaign because there was no aim assist. I saw ghosts had full controller support so I wonder if there will be aim assist for controller PC in campaign. I really hope so
EDIT: Godamn people, sometimes I like to sit back in my chair and play with a controller.
