A trip down memory lane. What's the first video game you ever played. Or remember playing?
And I know I'm showing my age here, but mine was Combat on my old Atari 2600.

It must have been Pong. It was on demo display in a warehouse in Germany.

EDIT: Probably 1977.

The first game I remember playing was an rpg game on the Nintendo 64. The first game I remember the name of, was Donkey Kong 64 when I was five years old. That was a great game!

I probably played around with older classics too. But only one I can really remember playing when I was kid was GTA Vice City.. Im 22 yo and that puts me at 10 years of age around the time it came out.. (or even younger) .. So that could be one of the first I played..

Either Giana Sisters, Mario Bros or Dynablaster aka Bomberman, but I'm not 100% sure since it's been a long time... on PC it was Dune 2 or Doom though.

For me, it may have been the original DOOM. Back in 1993 before my older brother got a Nintendo, my dad had it on one of his work computers ad he let us kids play it... for some reason. Whatever, I turned out fine. XD

My first play of DOOM was a shareware copy my mom's co-worker handed her. She had no idea what it was but said the co-worker told her I would like it. :D

There were two simultaneously - in 1991, when I was 4, my father brought first ZX Spectrum to our home, it had two games with it, one was Asteroids and another one was polish educational game 'literki' (letters). Funny enough I played Asteroids maybe 2-3 times and grew bored of it and switched to educational game. It had 3 difficulty levels - in 1st you were combining pictures having words posted, in 2nd you had picture and a word with a missing letter, and you had to choose right letter, in 3rd difficulty level you had sentence and word to choose. Each time you chose right a little dwarf that was ytour character was happy and if you chose wrong he was crying. So I kept choosing and memorizing stuff to make little dwarf happy. If you got flawless level you could go to higher difficulty, if you screwed up too much you were dropping one difficulty down. Long story short, my parents left me with it and 5-6 hours later I went to them sitting in a kitchen, grabbed some box from a table and spelled the name of a product - video games taught me to read in less than a day xD

I can't clearly remember which one was absolutely first, but it must have been either Pong or Pac-Man, back in the ends of the 80's.

Duck Hunt (1984), the Nintendo game. Played it in 1998, on an NES clone with a Street Fighter skin, I was 11, the gun was broken/faulty, so I never played it for long, the first memorable game was Super Mario Bros, on the same system.

That was one of the first games I played. I got the NES (no Street Fighter skin) from my cousin-godfather when I was 7 or so, with some games (Super Mario Bros 3 and Kirby were pure gold). Duck Hunt+Super Mario Bros on a single cartridge was probably the first I tried, and just like you, this stupid gun never worked...
I don't remember if I got my old GameBoy before or after the NES, that was the same year I think. Tetris should be the first on this console.
But I think I played a shitty game on a shitty portable console before that. A folding console like a DS but antique (and probably not a Nintendo/Sony/Microsoft/whatever console, but a cheap thing), powered with those expensive round piles for watches, and with a single game. That was a plumber with a bucket who has to collect drops of water falling from pipes.

Impossible for me to remember that far back, but I presume it was either Pong, Combat (at home), or maybe something like Asteroids in an arcade.

Either Tanktics or Ignition for PC and Tetris for handheld.
Edit: DOS Chess and Floppy Disk Mario for PC. I remembered playing it with only Keyboard. Mouse still doesn't exist at least in my side of the world.
