Instead of tearing flesh and eating brains I'd prefer them to rip clothes and motorboat...but oh well...

I think the problem is more than they rarely do something new with them, the resident evil style of zombie is pretty much a default undead enemy nowadays, kinda ironic when you remember that RE has been trying to shake things around ever since RE4.
