It's my cakeday.

Taking thanks in advance, too tired from a workday and a night of 5 hours.
And the pc i had in mind for 1500 euro, well it's already grown to 1800 now. :( The store i had in mind, where my dad bought his, i am afraid that the case and some other parts would make too much noise (hyper sensitive to it). So found another and going for an expensive but silent case and for a bit more could get a geforce 1070 8gb, but you only live once and you have to treat yourself sometime right?

Small giveaway, don't have much left atm.

Happy B-Day <3
I know that feel bro...I was aiming for a 1300+ $ gaming PC but while I was working and saving some money couple of months it became a bit more expensive...

Well the problem is that I have to spent a lot of money for other things (for example my car)
I guess I wont be able to buy that pc (or maybe even other) in 3-4 month
So be happy and enjoy new gaming experience in 60 and above fps for us both xD

Yeah understand, i only got medical costs (40 a month and 350 own risk), living with my parents so no rent.
So kinda free for now to splurge once (been a good 7-8 years since i bought myself something), i will save up after this.

Thanks, i will. :p

I am coming from a Geforce 430 GT, pretty much anything would be alot better. :p

I don't care much for highest settings, more important i could play most games out there.

Have a wonderful day too. :)

I got 6500 games, i probably got a bunch that i can't run now, i know atleast War for the Overworld, Maize and Last Day of June, i even got 200+ Vr games lined up, and will get a VR set too eventually, but for the time being the pc is already gonna be more then enough for awhile.
A friend promised me Final Fantasy 15, but he hasn't got alot of money so i might just get it myself and spare him that, eitherway i am getting it, FF 12 and World of Final Fantasy looks nice too (avatar might give it away a bit).

Happy Cake day!
Be sure to check out the fractal R5 computer case. It makes no noise whatsoever.
And di you buy it already or not yet? You can also check out alternate and megekko and buy all parts deperate and build it youself. loadso f fun :)

No i haven't made enough days yet, so i have to wait till 25 april.

I had Informatique in sight, and you always depend on what they have, and i have my eyes on a be quiet! dark base pro 900, it's 189 euro (i know) but i have good experiences with their fans, and there are plenty of cases with foam but making the airflow bad, and i just don't want to mess with watercooling either. For 200 euro i hope to expect it to be good.

I have a Geforce 430 GT i am not really used to high end graphic cards, high watt power but my dad has a shark case, supposedly "quiet" too but i couldn't stand the sound that makes. I don't mind paying extra if i could almost be assured it would be silent.

I got some skills, but for 45 euro they assemble it, and when my dad got his pc, we arranged some stuff and then it wouldn't start anymore, and couldn't figure it out (had to go back to the store), better they do it. ;)

Just check all the parts on those sites and build your own PC. It saved me about 350 euro's. So the build is 45, but they get a lot of margins on the parts too. And I do know what you mean with uncompatible parts. But I had my intell from a buddy that knows a lot about PC's.
I love my case, it white, pretty, easy to assemble and quiet :).

Will check it out thanks, can't hurt to compare, still have 6 weeks. And yeah some stores just steal hundreds away making their parts expensive.

They described my dad's pc also as quiet, i bought fans once in a store they claimed as quiet, i returned them, quiet is different for everyone. Preferable i don't just want to hear it a little, i don't want to hear it all. :p
But it's just hard and unpredictable because you never know until you have the thing in front of you, and each part could make the noise.

I can confirm the Fractal Design Define R5 is completely quiet, my brother has it.
If you feel like you can build, definitely buy parts separate, as that saves plenty as linda said.
If you do so, I can advise you to use http://tweakers.net to make a wishlist. They have an easy overview of all stores and specs.

You don't hear it at all (unless you press your ear against the case)?

I know about the site, but i do prefer to buy everything just from 1 store, having everything at the same time, also handy with RMA if something breaks, having all from the same place.

Just asked: yes, completely quiet.
Side note: windowless is quieter than windowed.
Adding extra fans removes sound insulation on those spots. (Mostly for the top fans. However, these fans might not be necessary.)
Also, there is a newer version: Define R6, for which the last point is no longer valid, because of a modular system, which still dampens noise when putting fans under it. (slightly more expensive than R5 (121 vs 100 euro)

It's gonna be build in a desk, so i could care less about lots of beautiful leds and such.

Thanks will keep it in mind, picking the right things for the right price is just another job on itself.

I compared with alternate, exactly the same parts, some things were cheaper, some more expensive, total price was about the same.

Yeah I got parts from alternate and megekko. But if they have the same price, then I would let them build it :).
The Fractal R5 is quiet as a mouse. I sometimes wonder if the PC is still running, t hat's how quiet it is.
When I place my ear against it all I hear is a quiet buzzing.

there's also fun tests: http://www.fractal-design.com/home/justsilence

Is hardware pricing in Europe generally more expensive compared to the US? I remember a i7 7700 16GB RAM GTX1070 laptop's starting price was 1800 USD more than half a year ago, and a desktop with equivalent specs is cheaper.

Dunno, I am planning on a 8700k processor (the better one), 16gb ram, 189 euro pc case, noctua cooler.

I guess newer hardware and the extra bucks on the case and cooler bumps up the price then.

Well it's more of a "gimmick" then a real puzzle, i explained it in past topics (but couldn't tell you which) i stole it from Ozo, but others are using it too still. The answer is really just in the link, nothing is hidden whatsoever.

Aren't Nvidia rumoured to be releasing some new GPUs soon? I hope they get around to it before your purchase and make the 1070 cheaper 🤞

I recently settled for a setup with a 1070 8gb and it is absolutely sufficient given the amount of new releases I actually play at my PC. Though I have been looking forward to play The Witcher 3......

Since Cyberpunk 2077 will probably be released in 2019, I don't expect a new Witcher to appear before 2024. And that is a lot of time to upgrade your hardware. Star Citizen will be my next milestone!
