I'm just glad Orville is getting season 2.

I don't necessarily mind the action focus of STD, I only hope that they won'r rush through the events as fast as they did in season 1. It could have been a much better show if they had allowed the characters and story to develop some depth.

Oh, it might be interesting.
I wanted to love the first season, especially with "Discovery" in the title. I expected to see lots of planets, new species, unknown menaces. Instead I got bored and quit after 5 or 6 episodes. Klingons are meh to me, so a whole season (or semi-season, I don't know) with them, no thanks.

Skip to episode 7 and watch that one. If you enjoy it, try 10. The back half of the season is a lot stronger than the front half, and 10 sold me on the series.

Well to me it look very interesting and it look like this might be a better season then the first one.

Well let's hope so. Personally hated only one thing and that was that Michael was not actually in star fleet, but a prisoner and so this would be easy to accomplish for me because now she is back in starfleet.

I'm more hyped for Orville. I prefer to watch a sci-fi show where I don't have to turn up the brightness all the way to 100

Oh, is this show still on? Totally forgot about it. I don't know about other countries but in the United States I think you have to pay for the CBS Access service if you want it, which I refuse to do so they can flippin' keep it. As far as I am concerned the show is doomed to failure here and it was a mistake not distributing it via more conventional means.

Everyone else gets it on Netflix, no complaints here. ;)
It seems CBS is pretty happy with the interest in the US. I read some time ago that they plan to produce four more Star Trek shows. Naturally none of those shows is what us Trekkies would expect from Star Trek.

discovery vs orville, what is the public opinion?

Orville lacks production values and often misses its comedic marks but it's still comes off as a genuine attempt to recreate what made TNG work.

Discovery is a bad fanfic written by people who aren't fans, complete with Mary Sue lead.

Discovery is a watchable action sci-fi show, as long as you ignore the fact that it's supposed to be Star Trek, because it really isn't.

Orville is a loving fan's homage to Star Trek masquerading as a parody, but watching it just reminds me that I could be watching reruns of the actual thing instead.

I watched a decent amount of the 1st season of the Orville. I really like some of the cast members but I just kinda gave up on the show. It felt like it had an identity crisis on what it was trying to be and I didn't find the comedy to be very funny.

Haven't seen the new Star Trek though due to not having CBS All Access.

Discovery would be a lot better without so much focus on the main character's love life.

The Orville would be a lot better without so much focus on the main character's love life.

Both shows are really hit and miss depending on whether they're trying to be Star Trek or a soap opera that day.

The first season was garbage. A ton of wasted potential.

Looks like they're just gonna ape the recent movies because that's easy innit.

The show looks good but I don't have CBS All Access. I'm hoping it will come to Netflix or Hulu for the USA.

I want to see more TNG era style Star Trek... and the first season was more SJW influenced garbage than Star Trek..

There are like a few more Star Trek's coming, there is even talk about one with Patrick Stewart, though he just seems too old to be a captain, more like an admiral or someone giving guidance.

Picard best captain ever :)

It's well established that the Federation Admiralty is full of evil and/or incompetent psychopaths. Hence why Janeway was kicked upstairs but Picard wasn't. Sisko's whereabouts unknown.

Picard would fight to the death anyone who'd want to stick him in an office. I don't think he'd care to be an admiral at all.

SJW as in a futuristic society actually stemming from our reality?

They are living in their own reality separate from ours.

I would have been really shocked if someone could say "SJW" without you popping up to rehash the same thing you always do.

I liked the first few episodes but then the line between episodes before and after the change of showrunner became brutally clear and I completely lost interest. Characters going nowhere, boring Klingons, cliché storylines etc. Shame

Can't get much worse than a Tarantino's Star Trek Wreck though.

Seems like the storyline takes a big turn... interesting. The trailer almost reminded me a bit of TOS with the jokes and all but I'm confused about the looks of the new captian. I thought they arrived only 9 months late on their universe (I have yet to watch the two last episodes of season one)? Anyways I'm looking forward to it. And I'm looking forward to Kirk and/or Picard!

The Orville looks interesting. It seems in the league of Galaxy Quest. Is the first season good?

Discovery... I saw three chapters and then forgot to watch the next ones.

Getting excited for Orville, Last Man Standing, and possibly Roseanne on YT. 2018-2019 is going to be great for tv.
