Borderlands 2 adds Steam Community Trading Cards

I'm the only skpetic about it or someone else is thinking what will be the way on games like BL2, Don't Starve or others (which don't have, at least for now, transactions like TF2/Dota) might be allowing users to get more drops, crafts, etc?

Hope I'm wrong about it, but I'm really thinking about a coming wave of 'bacon' or 'level' DLCs to get more pointless spending to drops allowing and etc...

Not sure about it, but there was a few rumours about a second Season Pass on BL2 with more DLCs, so I might think about it on the way to 'get more drops and stuff'...

For sure not everyone like those cards stuff, but considering the number of people who owns the game, limited drops and how it will work on Market, for me at least, makes sense. :S

BL2 Season Pass so far have been about adding more campaigns. And we have yet to see a non-f2p title get 'additional card drops' aside from the limit. So until we see that happen, I don't think companies will have DLC plans targeted on those trading cards yet, since it's very much in beta right now.

Second season pass rumors were fairly early in BL2's life, when Gearbox was talking about additional content. They might have been referring to all extra stuff not included in the Season Pass, though.

Who says that they will get more drops at all?

Valve may just keep adding new games to the trading card system. If you want a level 5 badge, then you pick the one game that you want it in, and trade all the cards from every other game in order to get it. (Which could mean that early games like Don't Starve see their card values increase.)

Another possibility is that instead of adding more drops to existing card sets, Valve introduces (or even replaces existing sets with) new sets. The current cards are labeled something like "Set 1", aren't they? And I notice that Portal 2 seems to be missing "obvious" card choices, like Atlas and P-Body.

well I was planning to craft a portal 2 badge as my first craft but now that BL2 is available I want that one. So if anybody wants to trade BL2 cards for Portal 2 or TF2 cards gimme a call. I'll try my luck at steamtrades in the meantime :P

I hope Valve sets up an in-house trading system for cards. Eventually, it'll be really hard to find specific cards on steamtrades. 7 games * 8 cards = 56 Cards for a badge for every game. That's not counting foils. Valve better get their stuff together and end the beta or add more drops.

If they keep the card earning system, it's the same wether they add 1 or 100 games. They reward the money spent in the game not the time. I really hope they will change it in the future so that it's not just a way to get some extra money from people that wants to get some smileys and profile backgrounds.

Borderlands 2 is not f2p. Only f2p games are about money spent in game. The reason? Because they are free to own and the cards worth be worth even less otherwise.
