According to this: https://steamcommunity.com/games/714510/announcements/detail/1676911120198679409

This game is being removed from Steam by the dev's decision and if you want it for some reason, now is a good time to buy it (it's 75% off) before it's gone for good!

Edit: Game's purchase disabled. Probably will be removed now so it's too late to buy, sorry!

Thanks for the heads up, but I think I'll pass on this. Bumping for others.

I find it kinda sad that some developers just randomly slap 'souls' on their game while not even using game elements that made Dark Souls such an amazing title.

Because only games like Dark Souls can have the the world Souls in their name...

I mean, the word was never used in any way before then, and certainly didn't have any kind of easily recognizable general meaning.
As such, that game series created it. So obviously, any game using the word has to be a tribute to the Dark Souls series.

Soulcalibur, maybe? No one ever heard of that game I guess.

Soul Edge (AKA Soul Blade) might be a more apt reference, if we're going down that road. Though it's not necessarily the game (series) that I would have referenced- though, seeing as I HAVE full-completed SC2 on all three platforms, it probably should be. :P

the reason I mentioned the soul caliber series is because it has a decent amount of recognition too.
I'm pretty sure during the soul edge/ blade era since the last word in the name changed, the game was called the soul serie or at least soul fighting game

Soul Edge was the first game, and released in 1995. You said "Soul calibur.. game", not game series, so I was pointing out that Soul Calibur not only predates Dark Souls and its 2009 Demon Souls release, but does so by roughly 14 years. Soul Blazer, which was the other game I referenced, released in 1992 (this being the earliest released 'Soul' game I could come up with off the top of my head), and was a rather well known game for its era (being favorably compared to The Legend of Zelda: Link to the Past).

Side note, it's "Soul Series" and "Souls Series", respectively, so the Soul Calibur and Dark Souls serieses do have a slightly nuanced difference in their labeling.

Don't stress. If there's a game genre Nixxi likes, I've yet to hear them mention it.
And, even if such exists, I assume it'll be Ambidot with "Divil Diggerz" all over again.

The Witcher 3, Nier: Automata, Horizon Zero Dawn, Uncharted 1, 2, 4, Life is Strange, GTA V, Bioshock Infinite, Bloodrayne, and Jet Set Radio Future. There's a few for you.

Not entirely sure I can genre-type those consistently, so technically my statement may remain true but, regardless, I'll acknowledge that I appear to have at least in part been mistaken in my assertion. Maybe lay off a bit on attacking the games other people enjoy, though?

I know this was a joke, but this isn't the point. 'souls' clearly is a homage to Dark Souls in the title of this indie game. Other titles did this too, like Dungeon Souls and Titan Souls. Also the word is 'souls' not 'soul'.

Unless you're a collector, if the game is crap, it is not a good buy. It's just a waste of money. Read the reviews before purchasing.

From the developer:

it is a game prototype that mainly uses placeholder assets.

From the reviews:

60% positive, all of the positive (Chinese) reviews seem to state that the game is bad, but that the reviewers either had hope for improvement or liked how friendly the developer is.

From chairmankao:

Unless you're a collector, if the game is crap, it is not a good buy. It's just a waste of money. Read the reviews before purchasing.

'nuff said? :P

I'll definitely take "This is an unworkable prototype, let me scrap it and try again" over "GIMMIE UR MONIEZ LOLOLOL" any day.

Nevermind that their new project actually seems to have potential, while typical Steam devs are content to just keep releasing content that doesn't look anything like actual games.

This game is a total failure.Do not waste your money at all.

The game isn't RPG at all for the following reasons:

1)Monsters doesn't give any exp.
2)There isn't any lvl at all.
3)You get skill points only by killing bosses
4)Monsters and bosses doesnt give any items or materials.
5)The game has no gold and no merchants at all
6)Poor battling system.

I fail to see how this reasons are a definition for a RPG in general.
Only that it fails to meet what people thinks RPG stands for.

If you ever played the RPG Engel
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Engel_(role-playing_game)
All of the mentioned reasons above are true.
Except reason 6, if you play with the Arcana System of it there is no battle system at all.
Just pure role play talk even in battles without any dices involved.

Somewhat the same for "Silver", I would say one epic JRPG of old.
2 isn't true there, but you only level up by beating bosses. 6 isn't true AT ALL. It does have gold and merchants but only for healing food.

I personally think XP per kill is an outdated system and "Quest XP" is the future, allowing only progression by progression rather than an excess of grindy grinding.
It saddens me that people still think that xp per kill is NEEDED.

So that explains why I saw people buying it. But I'll pass.
If it's so bad as the dev states but it's their learning project, why not make it free to play? Makes little sense to me.

EDIT: It's removed from the store already anyway it seems.
