Well they have said that Geralt of Rivia story in gaming version is finished, done, but they've never said anything about Witcher(s) universe :) Sapkowski universe is so rich in stories, legends, history and political conflicts, that I'm actually not suprised at all that there will be something more, maybe prequel in times where Witchers were very popular and there were more monsters.
I personally hope for MMO in these times ;p it's just perfect unvierse for that and monstar slaying order system with casts of Witchers, Mages, Druids

Yeah you might be right , it was time ago i might have just 'missremembered' things. On the other hand for a lot of people ,including me, witcher=geralt. I cant imagine other character being able to carry his 'torch' .

There's a lot of space in Geralt's world so maybe it would be custom created Witcher from other school than wolf's or Wizard from time when they were much more powerful... I would love to see story of fall of the witchers in in perspective of one of the fallen ones
And seeing Dandelion's stories when he wasn't with Geralt would be interesting :D

I really hope they won't follow the trend of MMOs these days. The Witcher 3 was amazing because of the choices you made, and because the storytelling and plot was really well written. Making an MMO out of this interesting choice-based premise destroys the story. It was good to be a witcher, because there are only a handful of them left...If there are a hundred thousand witchers running around solving quests, then that magic is lost.

I thought Sapkowski just wasn't a fan of the video game medium in general, he doesn't have beef with CDPR or their interpretation of his series, does he? He hasn't even played the games and doesn't really know much about them.
However maybe he isn't a fan of the mainstream popularity his series has gained from the games, it would make sense for him to be upset about that.

Depends on what you like. Even if both games will be equally good in quality i still prefer fantasy/dark fantasy over sci-fi ( love sci-fi as well).

Well, I don't know how many of you guys are aware, but CDP Red got a financial grant from Polish government. They said they will use the money torwards research of, among other things, seamless multiplayer. Now... Multiplayer. Plus Witcher. I leave you with that thought.

The article they've been citing is from December 2016, I just listened to it (native polish speaker here) and it does not confirm Witcher 4. They say there is still content coming - but it was obviously referring to upcoming expansion pack, also that they want to explore some ideas from withing - probably means Gwent which was not announced yet back then. But then he says that their new game - new non-witcher game - gotta be even better than Witcher, but it's still not coming anytime soon. So no - no new Witcher 4, maybe some small projects from within universe like Gwent, and next major release is not gonna be Witcher 4 but their upcoming Cyberpunk game.
