Hi!

I'm making a little project with friends, a short movie, honoring the old silent films. I've never done something similar, so I'll keep it simple: I'll cut the videos and add the text images in Windows Movie Maker. I'll use it in order to apply a white and black effect, too. And the soundtrack!

But I'll like to use a "old movie" filter, with noise and imperfections, so I'm looking for a software in order to do this effect. If possible, free and easy!

Can somebody recommend any? Thanks!

Doesn't WMM let you apply that kind of effects? Blender is free, but its quite complex if you are not familiar with that kind of UI (yes, it is more like a 3D software but you can edit video also)

Ops, Blender sounds like science-fiction to me. And no, I don't see much filter effects in WMM, just a few B/W tones, but nothing about noise or that kind of old-film effects. Thanks anyway!

What about Wax? http://www.debugmode.com/wax/

Also, wich version of WMM are you using? I can't believe it doesnt have that effect, made some research on the internet and it seems it was a "Film Age" effect until WMM 6.0 (with flickering, noise, etc) but then they took it out.

Or you can also download WMM 6.0, I think it's free. As I said before, it has "film age effects" wich is what you are looking for. Goog luck!

Check here: http://www.techsupportalert.com/best-free-video-editing-program.htm

VDubMod (even old) is solid. But for a newbie you can go with Avidemux. And if you need encoder; Handbrake.

A friend of mine installed in my computer AVS Video Editor, and it's easy and cool enough, so I think I'll use it. Thanks for all the support, guys! ;)
