Personally I don't like "gamer keyboards" because they have all thick keys and the pressure points is really low. Flat keyboards are way smoother and writing on them is more enjoyable than on thick keyed keyboards. Also less noise while writing or playing :P
The only difference on gaming keyboards is the programmable keys (like G1-Gx on logitech keyboards) therefore you should consider going to a local shop and randomly press keys of keyboards with flat keys. The comfort is real :)

Yeah, if I do go, I'll go tomorrow to the shop where I will get it either 1 from, and have a muck around on them before buying.

Agreed. I like the ease of clicking on flat keyboards. They feel alot more comfortable than gaming keyboards

+1 to that, I use a random $10 keyboard (Modecom something something). Literally the only two things I need are flat keys and illumination (it's pretty dark in my cave) and this one has them both. The only problem is that since the keys are from transparent plastic, covered with black paint, the letters have turned into unidentifiable red turds after a few years of using.

I'm personally using a Corsair Vengeance RGB. I like it quite a bit. They offer different selections of MX Keys, so I'd recommend taking a look at what they do and choose a keyboard off of that. If you're spending a lot on a keyboard, it should be mechanical. My personal preference is MX Black, nothing like that satisfying click. :3

Forgive the idiot but was does that Razer do that my £20 X4 doesn't?

I did hear some really good things about the new mechanical Logitech keyboards. If you want to, you can google the different types of mechanical keyboard switches, it'll help you make an informed decision. In general, you want blue or brown switches for writing (they have a tactile, audible "click" upon activation, are less smooth, but feel awesome to write with) or red / black ones for gaming (they are smoother, reds can be activated a bit too easily IMO - blacks feel great though, closer to regular keyboards but with more precision) - I won't go into much more detail, if you're interested you can google it easily. ;) Both the G810 and G610 seem really nice, and I personally have eternal confidence in Logitech (I still have a MX510 mouse somewhere that works despite being older than some people here...)

Well, I don't know much about mechanical keyboards. Only wanting a G810 or G610 because they look good :D

Mechanical: noisy as hell (think of old typewriter levels of noisy), any fluid will kill them, but they are a lot more comfortable to type on if you get used to the sound. It is the ancient way of making a keyboard, but there is a reason most gamer motherboards still carry a PS/2 port, because a lot of gamers still use their 20+ year-old mechanical keyboards for gaming.

Used since 10/07/1992 to be exact.
Only spacebar acts up sometimes (neighbour kid thought the harder he hits it, the stronger the shot gets p)
I googled once and dome construction was different back then than it is now
Tbh I barely can type on "modern" kb. Wrong layout (who the hell needs windows or print keys???!) , way too soft

Unlike membrane used in Deathstalker Chroma, Logitech G810 and G610 are mechanical, which should make them more durable and comfortable (I haven't tried them myself yet, but I heard some good stuff about them). There are two types of G610 models - with Cherry MX Brown and with Cherry MX Red keys. Brown are universal keys, they are good for both typing and gaming, while Red are more suitable for gaming - they are easier to press, and some people doesn't find it comfortable to type with these. However, there is an opinion that Cherry MX buttons are a bit outdated, and they were not initially designed for gaming, so Logitech made their own type of buttons - Romer-G - which is used in G810. They feel like a membrane keyboard (someone compare them to Brown), but claimed to be better and serve longer than Cherry MX.
Anyway, if I were you, I would try every type of keys before buying mechanical keyboard =)

Once you go mechanical for gaming, you'll never go back to membrane again. Read up on it more to determine if it's for you. If you really want the macro keys, you'll want Logitech. If you can do without them, there are much better brands to consider in that price range. I'd take a look at some Ducky and Corsair boards. They're solid and built to last a lifetime. Having said that, you couldn't pay me to use a Razer product again.
Before I continue, I have to preface it by saying I used to be a huge Logitech fanboy (I still prefer their mice). However, their quality has gone way down over the years and I've had a lot more of their recent products fail. I still have an old G15 that works fine (the keys are wobbly from use though) but I went through 3 G510S keyboards inside of 6 months before switching to a Corsair K70. I've been using it for ~18 months, and it is like the day I bought it. I've tried Logitech's mechanical keyboards and they do feel comfortable to use; I just don't trust their quality any more. YMMV.
Most importantly, as prus666 mentioned above, try to test the keyboard in person before purchasing. There's nothing like being stuck with an uncomfortable keyboard or dealing with returning it right away. :X

Ducky Shine 5. I think I have Ducky Shine 1, has worked fine for a few years. I also have a Corsair K60 which I used for awhile but decided to stop using it because I really need backlighting. Also that one doesn't have all mechanical keys, there's some membrane.

Went with the Logitech G810 and it's great, but I do have a question. What does the gearbox/joystick key do?
Can't find a answer for it.

Go with mechanical keyboard that uses Cherry MX or Gateron switched...if you wanted non noisy then go with Corsair's new MX Silent keys or mx reds from Gateron or Cherry. Mechanical keyboards are good because you can customize them.
Brands to check
Filco
Ducky
Corsair
Coolermaster
Leopold
Vortex
Magicforce

Since I can afford more expensive products now. I'm going to be buying a new keyboard.
I am thinking of going for the Deathstalker Chroma, but then thought of getting the Logitech G810 Orion or the G610.
What do you guys think?
