Is this pricing truly Evil, or will you stay & become a Resident?

View Results
[Tier 1] For a dollar this is pretty good.
[Tier 2] I want something juicier, and games with co-op suit me.
[Tier 3] Guess it's a bit pricier to reach the unbundled goods, but what can you do?
[Have] I got my own Village (and a City and a truckload of Raccoons) already.
[Expensive] At these prices, I can just buy what I'm missing a la carte.
[Tier complaint] How can silly little RE4 be in the $30 tier? Makes_no_sense.jpg. It was in a T2 in 2015 (!).
[Coupon complaint] If I wanted coupons, I'd craft badges, not spend this kind of money.
[Reality check] 50% off RE Village isn't even attractive when it's 58% off on Fanatical right now and cheaper yet on grey markets.
[2spoopy4me] No zombies and gore, plox. Eek!

I don't mind that they went a little bit more over-the-top and actioney with some entries, this already started with the original Resident Evil 3 being more action-focused than RE2 as well as the Dino Crisis spin-off series especially the sequel.

Of course Dino Crisis 3 was an entirely different story....

But RE5 in fact was so good back in the day I completed it in one sitting and controversially I enjoyed it more than RE4's slower pace, gimmicky bosses and pro-longed escort-quest style gameplay. To each his own but I wish I could play these games again, I don't have my physical disks anymore. The deals above seems pretty good value, especially Tier 1 and 2 together.

EDIT: Of course the original games and certain subsequent titles were credited for its atmosphere and the fans that came looking for more of that was left a bit wanting with the heavy dose of action-orientated gameplay. Its slightly how zombie culture evolved, I mean have you seen Dawn Of The Dead, which also has roots in Evil Dead which was all slightly more over-the-top.

Guess players will enjoy different games for different type of experiences. Everyone wants a new Silent Hill but have you seen how many horror games are out there? It says a lot about the quality of the gaming experience that so many older Resident Evil games remain popular today despite hundreds of other horror games and titles out there.

I don't have any game from Resident Evil series. Probably gonna buy :)
One question: I see the bundle has base games, but not the dlcs. How much dlcs are important on each game?

With this bundle you only need to buy 1 season pass for the resident evil 7 and thats definitely worth the price!
Re 5 gold edition has the dlc, others got only costume dlcs and challenge mods

Resident Evil 4 & 6 are low violence versions for us germans, even though these games have been de-censored a long time ago. Why on earth are we getting these censored versions? I feel scammed.

1$ is one of the best deals in years imo. $10 is somewhat good but not that much, $30 is expensive AF.

Edit: Missed some items lmao, guess $30 is a good price for the remasters, still not that good of a deal as you can probably get them for less than $10 each.

I'm missing 0, 1 and 3. Naturally they are all on different tiers, haha. Based on everything I've heard from 3, I don't think it's worth the 30 so I'm skipping.

I only ever played Resident Evil 4 briefly, I think I had a physical pc copy.

I found the controls clunky at the time and couldn't really get into it though. Maybe I didn't give it a proper chance.... (I know someone is going to tell me not to play the original resident evil if I thought 4 was clunky :p)

The re4_tweaks mod mostly fixes the controls. Enable mouse turning in the mod options and Modern controls in the game options. You can either install the mod by itself or it is included as part of the RE4HD Project (https://www.re4hd.com/)

Yeah RE4 still had tank controls, RE5 introduced strafing, but still lacked the moving and shooting, which in my opinion is still clunky.

So after activating all the keys RE: Resistance showed up in my library but on the store page I don't own it. While trying to find some answers on google I seen something about getting it with RE3. Did this happen with anyone else and is it playable? (Probably wouldn't play it anyway with the mostly negative reviews just curious)

Given how it's only morning hours in Ukraine right now, I'd say it's more probable that the winner has just been sleeping.
And as far as I know, ROW keys can usually be activated anywhere in the world.

If Village would be in there, even for a higher bundle-price, it would be an nstant buy. Now I'm thinking about it. Those coupons never worked for me.

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

I don't know about today, but like two days ago Fanatical offered Village cheaper, than it is at HB with the coupon, and this is just one store, right at that time. I don't think that 50% off coupon has any real value, they just try to get people to buy the game in their store, even if there are better deals around.

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

Of course, they try. Can't blame them for it, but I can choose to not buy it ;p

True, and also RE 4 was cheaper in other stores- at least in some regions. So Tier 3 isn't really worth it for these peopl who can access the better discount.

Comment has been collapsed.

Hi! Is there an expiration on the 50% coupon for Resident Evil Village? And is it possible to combine these kind of coupons with regular store discounts?
The default price of 60€ in the HB store is total scam, even in the Steam store it is much cheaper (40€).

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

The expiration date is September 7, 2022. Here's the terms and conditions:

"Single use coupon. Coupon redeemable for Resident Evil - 50% Off Coupon in the Humble Store. This coupon may not be combined with other identical coupons in the same transaction, and may not be combined with other Humble Bundle coupons. Coupon may not be combined with any Humble Choice member discounts. Coupon must be redeemed at time of checkout by following the directions provided for coupon redemption. Coupon has no cash value. Void where prohibited or restricted by law. Coupon may not be reproduced, copied, purchased, traded or sold. Unauthorized transfer of coupon and internet distribution strictly prohibited."

I'm not sure if there's a way to give it to someone else or I'd offer. I got the bundle for the games and don't plan to use it myself. (I didn't have any of the games in this bundle and have wanted to play the RE series for a while, so it was a pretty good deal for me!)

Yeah, Capcom games, or rather Resident evil games never get any high discounts so there is no chance of being given free anywhere.

Is there any chance that most of the games are out of keys last 1/2 days before the bundle ended?
I mean, was it ever happened before during Humble Bundles like this?
I'm trying to save some money first and buy T3 in 23rd.

Yes, lately they run out of keys quite often compared to previous years. Sometimes they don't even restock them.
For a quick overview: https://www.steamgifts.com/discussions/deals/search?q=stock
(I usually add "restocked" / "back in stock" to the title, but there might be other cases I overlooked)

I think something fishy is with region locks for res 6
Namely,Im EU & yet somehow I have a copy that is region locked out of EU

https://imgur.com/a/FNd7yfj

Did somebody fuck up the region locks for res 6??

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

No, it's not locked out of EU. Based on the gift link notification, it appears it's a ROW key.
They ran out of keys for RE 6 a few days ago, perhaps they restocked EU purchases with ROW keys instead.

Thanks for the explanation
I just find it funny that somebody from EU got a key that cant be activated in 99% of the EU

And what you say about EU purchases with ROW keys, could very well be - I'm not complaining
Its just good I checked before I gave it to a friend from Italy as he wouldnt be able to activate the game key
OH,well,guess I'll make a giveaway for it

I just find it funny that somebody from EU got a key that cant be activated in 99% of the EU

This depends on what their Humble Bundle region is vs. what their Steam account region is and if they match.
For RE6, if the regions match, it seems impossible that someone from EU receives a locked key that they can't activate in EU. They either receive a ROW key, or the RU/CIS+EU sub linked in OP, both of them redeemable in EU.
Italy can redeem the RU/CIS+EU sub for sure, unless their Steam account is not located in RU/CIS or EU.

Usually Serbia has issues like that, because publishers sometimes consider it as part of RU/CIS even if it's included in EU, thus Humble Bundle gives them a RU/CIS locked key that they can't activate in EU.
But for RE6, RU/CIS and EU share the same region lock thus we don't have this problem now.

Reminder that your kind of region lock notifications should be read as "these countries receive region locked keys or no key at all" and not "the key you receive cannot be activated in..." as HB claims.

I'm tempted to try RE games, but I don't really enjoy scary games. Or at least very scary games.
I enjoyed Dead Island. I enjoyed Halo: CE Remastered (moderately scary moments). I played Layers of Fear and it was OK.
How does RE scariness compare to these games?

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

It has some action so you don't have to worry about it, it's not like Alien Isolation or Outlast Series in which you can only hide, that's a huge plus if we compare how scary or tense those titles could be.

Comment has been collapsed.

it's like in the movies, there are movies that create an atmosphere of horror, events develop slowly, but danger awaits around every corner, and there are movies where the heroes cut their way through hordes of monsters in non-stop action. so RE is the second option. yes, there are monsters, there are deaths and rivers of blood, but you walk with your collection of weapons on mountains of zombie corpses to victory. and more often it will not be monsters that will scare you, but the fact that there are almost no bullets left.

Need help, because in Germany we will get the low version, is possible if a friend of mine (from Canada) buys the bundle and get for RE4+6 the uncut version/WW version, that I can redeem later on?

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

For RE6, Canada receives https://steamdb.info/sub/25573/ which doesn't have any regional restrictions, thus can be activated anywhere.
I don't know what sub they receive for RE4 (no one reported it), but I would assume it's also ROW. In most cases, US / Canada purchases are ROW.

HB is the problem, you can try to create a support ticket and they will get back to you within a few days or over a week.

They still claim that my bank is the issue, despite that my card works everywhere else and the bank have no restrictions regarding HB so im not sure why they keep pretending that its the bank or card (several cards from different banks, all worked on HB until they decided that they wont work anymore).

PayPal works like a charm for me, same personal information, connected to a card that doesn't work on HB etc
