Hey guys, I want to create this giveaway but the bundle 4 is not listed on the games list.

Can I choose the bundle 3, but add in the optional description that isn't the bundle 3?

You can't giveaway HiB4 because of people exploiting the ability to purchase it for 1 cent.

And that is not the right answer. The correct answer is you can't gift the current HIB until it is over.

I thought that was why you couldn't give it away until it was over. So there weren't massive floods of keys of people buying it for a cent.

You can buy it for a cent now and "massive flood" after ending.

You pay whatever you want for it. They always have extra content that you only get if you pay over the current average though.

The Humble Bundles have been around for over a year and a half and you only just found out they are pay what you want?
(However just because you can pay 1 cent doesn't mean you should, besides they changed it so that you only get Steam keys if you pay a dollar or more, as mentioned below.)

They changed that just for now because of the Steam sales...

I never said anything to the contrary? I mean were you correcting something?

They're giving Steam codes only to those who paid >$1, so exploitation is impossible.

It is now. It was possible for a week.

Are you sure? It was an idea on forum.
Where i can read about it? (i don't care about keys, i already bought my own "more then average")

It wasn't an idea on the forum, there was a thread about it on the forum after it was implemented. And where can you read about it? It's kinda right there on the Humble Bundle site, also on their blog/Tumblr and their twitter.

Paying a dollar for all that content is just as exploitable as paying a cent.

No, not really. You are legally buying a game pack. They made the decision to let you pay what you want :P

It might be easily exploitable but less people are going to be exploiting it now that you need to pay at least $1 to get a steam code. I know one person bought 100 bundles and then gave them away on his website just so he would get more members. The fact that someone would now have to spend $100 dollars to do the same thing is a huge difference. Also this will help the humble bundle people out because of the fees paypal charges for each transaction.

Actually on this thought I checked the relevant threads and none of them specify that the HIB 4 should require Steam keys, of course it goes without saying that they should since this is STEAMgifts but you just know people will submit 1 cent copies purchased after the change and use the fact the rules don't specify that they needed to be copies with keys to try and defend themselves.
I know the rules will be updated in due time but maybe it should be done before the giveaways start?

This is a good idea. That way you can slap even more people with the ban hammer ;)

Does anyone know why Bundles are not allowed while they are being sold? I mean there are multiple possible reasons for that but has there ever been an official commment from the SG-team on that? Just curious :)

When the bundles are for sale, there is an influx of humble bundle giveaways. I think Cult said why way back when.

Another reason is that having giveaways takes away from the actual charity.

Just they explained why multiple times and basically they don't want to encourage exploitation. Yes there are bother reasons like trying to avoid flooding the site but the primary reason is just to prevent encouraging exploitation of the Humble Bundles.

My 2 cents: HIB giveaways should be allowed just for bundles purchased above the average price (they are easy to recognize as they are the ones with extra games in).

way to go bumping a 3 weeks old topic. mind being more polite and stop necroing dead threads please?

I actually crossed this thread scrolling the first page.
Way to overreact.

Also, can't really say I care too much about how old it is the thread, and I would hardly call a 3 weeks bump "necroposting".
Oh, and I still stand to my point, as its relevance isn't magically aged after three weeks.

You've been here for 4 months and you still don't know how to not necro a thread? k i'm out.

I just don't think that a 3 weeks up (completely accidental, by the way) could be blamed on the verge of an outraged outcry as the most infamous form of gravedigging.
But that's not even the point now. The point is: what it's done it's done, there is no point for you to keep being noisy about it. Just drop it, for christ's sake.

If you don't care about the topic (which is "to what extent a HIB should be allowed as gift") just stay out, I'm far more interested in the opinion of those who do.

1) Stop being an asshole.
2) Necroposting is a stupid rule.
3) This method is simpler compared to policing every HiB giveaway.
