You haven't heard of it? It was one of the largest kickstarters out there and currently has ~30 million USD in crowdfunding iirc.

What's wrong with nerdy? And how is a space sim any more nerdy than a fantasy game like Skyrim running around as an elf? And I'd say that's a pretty popular game...

My only backed game on Kickstarter so far. Looks promising, although I'm somewhat skeptical about their whole "selling a bunch of ships for real money" policy. Wait and see, I guess.

Looking forward to the Dogfight module in Dec/Jan.

Overhyped? Maybe, but I'm pretty optimistic that this game will be a milestone in gaming history.
