Thanks Bruudwin!

Gotta admit I'm curious what RPGMaker games you'd recommend a friend; I have a handful. Feel free to share your experiences/trauma sometime--

i fell for the trap rpgmaker games that are just like subterra, (chosen is another pos example) 'hurr durr partial boobs' , usually these types are just quick n easy pieces of crap. one of em had an obvious exploit\glitch\farm that was easy to beat the entire game. that same game in particular, if you interacted with 'dead bodies on the ground' they'd change to another character.

i mostly recommend ' The Albino Hunter for its humor despite mostly default rpgmaker things, i hear the creator is making a 2nd one perhaps?' https://steamcommunity.com/app/355520

Kinda recommend 'Sins of the Demon Rpg" for the fact its only uniqueness going for it is it's story, and it has a 'tales' series dialogue like option. (where after certain events, entering certain areas, you are prompted in a tiny hardly noticiable corner of the game screen to toggle a dialogue\conversation between characters, usually story related, sometimes funny, witty, just casual friendly conversation etc) also it uses a non default conversation bubble\border\outline (to my knowledge) to keep it in tune with the asiany bits of the game.

skyborn for some of it's story, despite damned plotholes \ missing information. and i guess the overhype it received when it was released or something like that? oh and the music.

Ara Fell https://store.steampowered.com/app/440540/Ara_Fell/ hnnnnnng all original music! the battle system has AUTO BATTLE FEATURE!!! i spent so much time not actually playing the game while i would be doing other things like homework or browsing the internet because of the awesome auto battle feature! also the story is nice as well. not too stereotypical.

Waste Walkers (only the first one really, the other dlcs \ games are just additives and kinda ok so long as you played the main game) to me, a nice semi open world that is super creul to you at the very beginning until you find yourself better gear, the enemies leveling system is iffy though. since its a 'survival based' game, theres energy, health, food, thirst. but with the amount of loot you can loot, thirst and hunger are super irrelevant.

Suits a business rpg, holy crap was this game funky n odd and 1000000000000% original! not even sure if its made with rpg maker in particular (theres so many 'rpg maker engines, luna, wolf etc that i dunno) the music, enemies, story! holy shit the story!

Stargazer, to me its a rpgmaker version of 'stardust with robert de niro' but not really. i didn't like this since it was too annoyingly slow long n tedious at the beginning that i quit after 5 hours of gameplay?

Storm of Spears, gods damn this one, another boob game, but this one was actually decently made for once. i really don't remember anything about this game other than what i just re-read from my review i made about it.

Leo & Leah https://rpgmaker.net/games/2324/ you're a lion cub instead of a human, super linear though.

to the moon of course for the heart felt story imo? https://store.steampowered.com/app/206440/To_the_Moon/ and including any stories, prequels, sequels etc that the 'to the moon' people have made. (like they had made a short 15-30 min movie like rpg maker about a poor kid's mom's journey to make a birthday cake for him, so damned sad)

well that was a trip down memory lane (went through my previous game reviews to see which 'rpgmaker games' i had actually played so far)

honestly, its because i've been messing around with rpgmaker vx ace (which is what seems to be a majority of the rpgmaker shoved onto steam) that i can now see. 'oh this is literally copy n paste from the rpgmaker engine' and little to no originality on the makers part.
