I mostly suck on games like these but the lore / world just fascinates me so much. I love to death the The Witcher franchise, really wish to be able to play this one, thank you so much for the chance!

The Witcher franchise has definitely built a huge fanbase largely in part due to the interesting low-fantasy world they have crafted; it is certainly a huge if not the biggest reason why so many people like it (besides the great gameplay, of course).

Thank you and good luck!

I'd say original books and their author crafted a rich world first, it's a main reason why Witcher 1 was a success - they already had a big fanbase to draw from.
But they did great too, visually and mainly in storytelling department. It's a game for adults (like original books), not a lot similar games exist scope and genre aside. Characters are not in a black/white world, either bad or good, everything is shade of grey.

Well obviously (though I will bravely admit I forgot that before all of these comments started); it's just their execution in all 3 games has been top-notch!

You are indeed right; it's the reason why The Walking Dead by Telltale was so well received, too. Not enough mature games!

I like rpg and fantasy games. I may be somewhat new to the genre but I love the designs, setting and adventure.
I'd honestly love to go on a real adventure irl.
Got Throne of Lies to treat myself four days ago and I'm extremely into it now with over 12 hours in four days.
Thanks for the GA, and hope you have a good week ahead!

Well, if you are new to the genre, maybe you shouldn't play (probably) the best game in it from the get go? Other games won't compare later. :D
Well, you can try! Difficult, tho. :/

Oh, well, that isn't exactly a usual RPG game, however I approve of it since it is a Mafia/Werewolf game!

Thank you and good luck!

Simple this one of the best franchises out there. CD Project red provided us with 3 amazing games and the third actually made it so that it's not only one game, but 3 in one.

I like action rpgs, so it's a no brainer to play the Witcher 3. I like the creativity you can pull off the most in these games. I watched the documentaries about the development, which really sparked my interest. Can recommend them. I think they were on their YouTube. Anyway thanks for the giveaway :D

Witcher 1 and 2 were amazing and the series seems to keep getting better. Also, CDPR seem like a pretty great studio.

Comment has been collapsed.

Aye, in retrospect many point out the flaws of Witcher 1 (and to a lesser degree Witcher 2) but Witcher 3 seems to be tremendous... And, yes, CDPR has quietly carved itself a niche of being the big development team, garnering a lot of hype for anything they do.

Thank you and good luck!

I own and have played through the first two games fully and played someone else's copy of this game for a bit. So yeah, I want this game so I can play through the whole series. In fact I'll probably try to 100% it if I can.

I am really not into 100%-ing most games (the feeling is just too overbearing for me), but if I'd do it in one game, it would probably be this one.
Yes, for you (and anyone else that has yet to play the 3rd one after playing the first two): It would be a crime if you didn't!

I wanna try this game to see if it's justified all this hype around it, I just hope it wont be like Skyrim for me, which was the most boring game I bought... (I know I'll get blacklisted for my opinion, so go ahead, it wouldnt be first time)

BLACKLIST NO JUTSU

Joke aside, the Elder Scrolls and Fallout series garner a lot of angry fanboys - and although that is unfortunate, you have to accept that as those games were truly awesome back when they hit their peak (a decade ago?).
Personally, I was skeptical of Skyrim but as soon as I started playing it I got engrossed in it for hours and hours - and never even finished it.
The thing about Bethesda's games is that they have great "width" but so, so little depth... Wonderful worlds that you want to explore, but then you get mixed visuals, repetitive dialogue (and voice actors), decent gameplay that often gets sidetracked and most painfully a shallow world which doesn't react to (your) actions in the way you'd hope.

As far as Witcher 3 goes, it doesn't pretend to be all of that - it is an Action RPG with an actual story to tell, it just so happens to be pretty open. It gets a lot of hype but it also has far less criticism than Bethesda's games.

I'm sure you'd enjoy it. :)

Thank you and good luck!

I read the books and being able to play and interact in this world should be awesome, but I could not play now (as The Witcher 1 and 2 I already have) because I'm without a GPU, if that's not ok I can remove the giveaway entry. Thanks.

Well, I don't necessarily mind it; as long as you eventually get to play the game, it is fine! Just be sure to get a GPU soon!
The series deserves finishing! Though, I understand how hard it is to get PC parts nowadays. :/

I'm working through the series at my snail's pace, and love the mechanic and the gritty world. Also big sprawling RPGs are my favorite games, though I don't have the kind of built-in time I used to have. We make do, though, we make do.

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

We definitely make do; damn adulthood - when are we supposed to play these 150+ hour games?!?
Yes, besides the good overall gameplay and open world, the low-fantasy/gritty approach is one many like; it feels (and mostly is) mature.

Thank you and good luck!

Thank YOU!

There was a time - admittedly this was before bundles, and before digital streaming and all the rest - when I would scoff at short games. Why spend the money for just a couple of hours of enjoyable-but-fleeting play? I expected 100+ hours on all my solid projects (and I play slowly by nature - I like exploring, reading, checking around on things, getting some good screenshots in particularly pretty games).

Now I treasure games that can squeeze solid satisfying play into a couple of satisfying hours. Funny how things change.

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

No problem. :)

Heh, I can't fully relate to that - see, growing up, in my country it was kinda normal/expected to go to the flee market to buy pirated games on CDs/DVDs for the equivalent of 1/2/3 euros. So, how much a game is "worth" wasn't really a factor for many people of my generation. :P
But I do get the sentiment - back then we just wanted to play as much as possible, get the full experience - nowadays, you either don't have free time or, when you do, just aren't feeling it... Personally, I do have depression and it often manifests in me being absent-minded and indecisive: one day this game, the next day that game, the third day a book... So I end up playing not much of anything. :P

So, yes, I can appreciate shorter games; absolutely loved Pinstripe for example, a hearty recommendation!

Otherwise, I am mostly like you: I like to take games slowly and be invested in them. Don't really take screenshots, tho!
