Thanks for the ga, eeev.
I've currently only bought Flamebreak and enjoying it so far. :)

That's the most reasonable shopping spree I've heard of this summer. Congratulations for knowing what you actually want, that's a rare treat when it comes to Steam and games. At least around here :)

Thank you :)

Not really excited. I bought some nice games I will be happy to play soon, but haven't bought any AAA games, as I've already got a bunch of them that are in a long queue of games I want to play.
Too bad I don't have as much free time, as I had before, I'm really surprised I managed to play so many games some time ago :'D

So many games, so little time, right? I guess we're all getting older.
Thanks for your kind reply <3

Yes, and if this is how we get older - it sucks. A lot. I'd better exchange it to being gray-haired (minding that I'll become bald anyway, thanks to my father's genetics) :(
And when I got a job and my current girlfriend (which in less then two month will become my beloved and lawful wife) - time has became (or
become
?) the resource I have to use really wisely, due to it's extremely limited nature.P.S. God, I wish I was English native-speaker. It's pretty hard to express my thoughts =\

Oh damn, PlyrStar, you bought so many, and yet there's nothing you really wanted? That's too bad, really. You should've bought something else then I guess...

The ones I "really really" wanted and to be called as "excited" when buying them--
Primarily didn't buy them because prices are too high or not having a decent enough discount. Preferably I would buy them at 75%+ discount since I already know I won't play all of them immediately... and for a AAA purchase to be "exciting" it has to be a decent price. While a new historical low of 75%+ off is great, I would take 60% -- 74% if I know I will start playing it in the near future.
As you may have seen Bethsda lowered the base price of some of their relatively new games, I am furthermore unmotivated in buying AAA titles because of this.
For the new LiS game I will probably get it after the sale ends, since the spending during the sale doesn't count toward the progress of dropping summer sale cards if you pre-order something. Anyways that's plenty of time I got to decide if I would pre-order this or not (store page says you get some exclusive stuff if you pre-order, but I cannot figure out if that's really a pre-order exclusive because I don't see any relevant information on SteamDB).

I see and I can totally follow your logic. I'm doing just the same thing, although this time around I actually bought some games I'm excited a bout for 66% off, 50% off and even one 33% off title. Good stuff!
Never preorder!

The 33% off AAA I still remember buying was GTA 5 back in 2015. At the time I was already not interested in buying games without high discounts but I gave it an exception because 1) they were selling the game+shark cash card bundle at the original price of the base game during the 2015 Summer Sale (and many people were blaming them for deceptive sales tactics due to this) and I thought it wouldn't go on a discount for a while; 2) this discount was for game+shark cash card and the original price was just the base game's price; and 3) I did intend to start playing it right away.
Then I occasionally buy AAAs at 50% -- 66% off since I thought the price was decent enough and I believed the base price wouldn't get adjusted for a while. Then I started noticing higher discounts either from Steam or digital retailers, and now the Bethesda price change. Still in my opinion the -66%s and -50%s for AAA are indeed good prices and as long as you think it's worth it there is nothing to regret.
When you see me buying games at low discount or no discount it's usually because I consider them as higher risk of being removed from Steam store. They will not be available to purchase anymore once they get pulled, but they can still be played from your library. For a game that has spent a considerable amount of time and money to develop it wouldn't make sense if they pull them from the store so soon. In some other cases I feel like buying the games and playing them to rush 100% achievements.
The sole reason for me to pre-order something will be getting exclusive items that are not available through any other means. Sometimes I do pre-order when I see the title is of interest to me meanwhile offering some exclusive stuff, more likely when there is discount. I actually have some explanation but it's really long so just ignore them if you don't want to read.
Partially this can avoid accidental activation of pre-order keys onto your account if you got the regular version. Let's say I pre-ordered Project Highrise that comes with a night light main screen and some in-game items and these are not available through other means. In order to implement this the publisher has to set up a special package that contains both the game and the pre-order DLC AppID's. Then when the game releases they have to switch the package they sell on Steam to another one that doesn't contain the pre-order DLC, and they need to do the same switch on other retail stores (e.g. Humble Store). So, let's now assume you got the regular version of Project Highrise through Humble Monthly and you activated that on your account, but later someone comes up telling you they got a special gift for you and sends you a key for the pre-order version of Project Highrise, while you--may not be aware you already have the game--attempt to activate that on your account, it will activate on your account because you don't own all of the items in the package corresponding to the key--in this case the pre-order DLC. In the end you don't get another copy of the game while you also waste a key if you don't want the pre-order items.
This is still not full-proof actually, but the same key activation mechanic applies to released games of different tiers as well. If you check the packages of some Paradox Interactive games (namely Stellaris and Tyranny) you will find the packages for different tiers of the games contain some unknown AppIDs that are not available in any other version. Let's say I bought Tyranny Overlord Edition on Steam, which is the highest tier of the game. Then I somehow got a key for Tyranny Commander Edition and if I attempt to activate this key it will activate on my account and not say "Product already owned". This is because the Overlord package contains some hidden AppID (I don't know what exactly Paradox use this for), while the Commander Edition package has yet another hidden AppID that is not in the Overlord package. And meanwhile the unknown AppID in the pre-purchase package for Overlord Edition is different from the one in the release version, so you will activate a release key of the same tier on your account even if you pre-purchased it--wasting a key without getting an extra copy.

Thank you for this nice game!
I have only bought a small point'n'click adventure on sale yet, but Shadows of Mordor is very tempting.

Oh, a point'n'click lover? I'm one, too! I treated myself with some nice gems this sale. May I ask which game you got?
Also, gratz for winning and you're very welcome!

I already had Lumino City (aka Lume 2) from a Humble Bundle. I wanted to play Lume first and this was the first time it was on sale.
Your new games look all very interesting to me, especially Silence. I love the Whispered World and everything else from Daedalic.
But my "pile of shame" is still very very high so I try not to buy too much.

If you are into point and clicks then Daedalic have got quite a few of them.
These are at 90% off right now so it's a great deal if you don't have any of them. Although they are all bundled before, if you missed the bundles it's still a good deal.

Most individual games in the bundle are also 90% off so if you are only missing a few you can still get them at low price.

Thanks for the advice. I have most of the older Daedalic ones as boxed version but i have not played Deponia (4) Doomsday yet.
I can also recommend the games from Animation Arts (http://store.steampowered.com/sub/19093/),
the Black Mirror Trilogy (http://store.steampowered.com/sub/54396/),
the Journey Down (http://store.steampowered.com/sub/54748/),
the Inner World (http://store.steampowered.com/app/251430/)
and the Book of Unwritten Tales (http://store.steampowered.com/sub/59923/).

Yep, already got them all except Journey Down Ch. 2 since I will be waiting for a better price for that standalone one instead of the package.
