The singing has some resemblance with Turn Loose the Swans (for me easily one of my top 10 records ever made).

After another listen, I agree, it was probably my nostalgia for the era :)). The vocals, though, at times clearly reminded me of Aaron's voice around those years.
Also, i agree with your praise for Turn Loose the Swans, a real masterpiece!
