I can confirm, that this game becomes quite repetitive and boring after about 20 hours, only excitement is breeding new dinosaurs, which is quite slow and time consuming. After a long time last, you just break and open the cages, so the dinosaurs kill most of your guests, which isn't even that fun because most dinosaurs are quite slow at doing so, even the Indominus Rex.
Only thing that I had fun with for multiple hours is testing dinosaur strenghts, making each one of them fight, from 1v1 to packs vs packs for smaller dinos, at the end the Indominus Rex wins (but only after you upgrade him via Specimens), the MAX spec TRex seems to be way stronger than a basic Indom, sorry for the spoiler alert, but most people give up after at 3rd island as it is REALLY obnoxious

Maybe it's a jurrasic park franchise cash grab scheme. Sounds poorly made from what you write

it most likely is, I disliked most aspects of the game, but I am an achiewment slut so I went trough it as I got it with the DLC's for free
Most dinosaurs have like 2 attack animations, aswell as it feels too AI-ish, everything considering the dinos is really slow, they rarely attack eachother on the hardest difficulty
