Sometimes it's enough to know this or to write/talk about whatever is a/the burden, to feel in the end, much, better.

From my own experiences, with heavy depressions years ago as example, i can say that break the contact to nearly all people is mostly the wrong way but of course i don't know if you done the same in the real world too or not and not why you done it exactly. So it's difficult to give a good advice.
