Description

I can't warrant the key validity since I'm not an issuer of keys and I have no technical options to check key validity without activating it. Joining this giveaway means you're agree to delete giveaway if the key will appear to be not valid

It would be nice if people stopped writing this in their descriptions. Giveaway creators are not allowed to create their own rules or stipulations in the giveaway descriptions. Anyone that can see this giveaway can enter and does not have to agree to anything outside of the site rules. The option to delete the giveaway if the key does not work will always be up to the giveaway winner no matter what is written in the description.

Here is a comment from a mod confirming this. It is mentioned in the 2nd paragraph of the comment.

I don't have a problem with deleting the giveaway and I think most people will agree to delete the giveaway, but if they do not, having a not received on your account is not a big deal. We never used to delete every giveaway that had a problem in the past and it wasn't a big deal.

If you think there is a chance the key will not work, there are a couple groups made specifically for this where the group rules state that the giveaway creator must agree to delete the giveaway or they will be kicked from the group. That is allowed because it is a rule for the group and only people that are in the group can enter the giveaway.

That's not rule.
That's just a warning.
Ppl should understand, that they could meet such a stuation and be ready for it.

If I would be affiliated with some developers I could easily replace the key.
I'm not affiliated with any of them. That's why it's not often situation, when I have second key in reserve to replace duplicated one

You do not need to be affiliated with a developer to replace a key. Only buy keys from reputable sites and if the key doesn't work the site that sold it to you should replace it. All my giveaways are from bundle leftovers that I didn't activate or individual keys I bought, and with over 1000 keys sent I haven't had any bad keys. People should not be giving keys from shady sources or trades because if that key gets revoked in the future, the giveaway winner will end up losing their game and it will give the giveaway creator a bad reputation. I have purchased keys from shady sites, but I only do that for games I want for myself and do not create giveaways with them.

I am not trying to claim that I am perfect or that anyone has to be, people make mistakes. I accidentally gave away a couple keys in the past that I already used in previous giveaways and I was able to get a replacement key for one in a couple days and the other ended up getting deleted. I have also won a few giveaways where the key didn't work and I had no issue with the creators deleting the giveaways.

Some people ask in the description to allow them to delete the giveaway if the key doesn't work, which is fine, but when you phrase it as, "Joining this giveaway means you're agree to delete giveaway", you are basically saying that anyone who enters the giveaway agrees to delete it if the key doesn't work and that is not true because nobody has to agree to anything to enter the giveaway.

More and more people are writing this in their descriptions now because they see other people writing it and it bothers me because it isn't true. I am just trying to help inform the giveaway creators about the rule. Otherwise almost every giveaway on the site is going to have this written in the description and that is annoying because it means nothing.

Thanks, I wanted to try this game since I like old style fps.

Also, I don't see any problem with agreeing to delete a giveaway in case the key doesn't work, especially in the case of old keys, but I guess it wouldn't hurt to post it under those particular groups so you don't get complaints about that.
