I think that is the least the community can do for Icaio, i know a perma train is something some people will hate, but since Icaio wanted one, we could do that for him.
Oh nice, I didn´t know he proposed that. As an organized train this would certainly have its downsides, but it would be really nice to see it continuing organically. Kind of a living memorial. I´d try to do my part whenever I can.
I was actually thinking on stretching it that far, but since he made that perma community train topic, maybe it would be best to go with that if possible.
All it requires is for people to make at least 1 GA to keep it going from time to time and post the last cart.
I don't mind either option, just up to the community to continually add carts if permanent. I just meant if we run a permanent/7 year train, I would like to see it end on his join date if it ends at all.
For me that's the idea. Soon this will clash with other events, like the Xmas Community train, and lots of people will think "oh I already contributed there, time to put stuff in this train".
But as long as a few people put long giveaway durations like 3-4 weeks, just with a couple of contributions here and the train will continue in January.
The thing is, how many people will want to keep contributing by then? Fewer and fewer... But I'm sure that it'll continue for the next year at least, easily. 7 years? Possible, indeed. The train doesn't really need that many contributors to keep alive. It'll just not be as continuous as it was the first week.
Ending times of the GAs keep getting pushed further ahead. Who knows, maybe we can just keep this train running for a whole year or so 😊

It is sort of fitting since Icaio always wanted a permanent community train, though at the time, many (including myself) https://www.steamgifts.com/discussion/LF53e/permanent-community-train had disagreements or qualifications with a permanent community train
