Hi!
A question out of curiosity. You have beaten the whole Battlemech company with only 4 pilots? :3

I had a rotation of up to 8 pilots to complete all possible missions on the same planet before travelling to the next location.. because they did get some meat wounds from time to time even with a small bit of save-loading!

Hey!
To be honest I don't remember that well.
I recall I had to replace one of the pilots of the starting team because he died in one of the early missions. Then I surely had 2-3 pilots as reserves, but I think I didn't used them much. I remember using my main and another one as front liners, plus the other 2 loaded with missles attacking from the distance.
When someone was wounded, I just used to wait for the days to pass, and if a mission had gone really bad I'd reload.
I should reinstall the game to be more precise, though.

Nah, this is not too important. I noticed you had 5 pilots only after the end of campaign so I wondered if it was a kind of hardmode idea of yourself or some decision you made for this walkthrough and never looked back.. e.g. for leveling up 4 pilots as fast as possible.

I absolutely loved the game myself.

Hmm... I don't know if the 3 mechwarriors they give you at the start count towards the achievement, but I guess not. So I had at least 9 pilots in total at some point (considering the dead ones too). I remember now I was trying to hire only pilots with unique portraits (just cause they seemed cooler), given they were rarer I guess that's why I had fewer pilots at the end. But when I finished the campaign I lost interest in the game.
I won't say I loved it, but I enjoyed it, I found it a bit slow sometimes, but it's a solid turn based game nonetheless, plus I immediately liked Lady Arano and the whole Restoration story, that's what really pushed me till the end of the campaign.
