I'm not using JS, I like Python way more because I find it easy to learn and use.
I've already done some of the games on your links and I will certainly do the other because that seems really fun.
I could recommand you to try to find a tutorial about Python, which could give you more possibilities, especially with a library like Pygame, who give you many tools to create little games (That's what I'm using for my pac-man)
