Description

I was going to buy this for myself, but noticed I already had... Sigh.

Not much chance I'll ever remember to play this game, which means... Hey, giveaway winner, we have something in common! :)

Fortunately there's trading cards, so even if it's not your thing at least you will get some profitz from it... :)

Good luck! :)

Hmm... Guess I should ask a question in here. Did you ever buy a game you already owned? What did you do with it? Just curious. :)

A good chance at a wishlist title? Hmm, maybe I should break my "no joining gibs" spree for once :p

To answer the question... well, yes - but not accidentally (like in your case). I did buy a few games I really enjoyed just to give them away - I don't think I wanna find out if the winners played them though... :)

I wouldn't want to encourage anyone to break their spree, but the odds do look pretty good so far... :) Not sure how many people read those endless Fanatical re-bundle threads... :)

I did this with a physical game dvd, which ended up at https://www.steamgifts.com/giveaway/NvexC/mlb-front-office-manager ... :) Somehow the red "you don't own it" ✘ is still showing, but maybe with removed games it gets confused? I have no idea... Fortunately I'll remember owning that one now... :)

Good luck if you fall off the wagon! :)

I think it's more about them still not learning that you hide giveaways in youtube links, honestly. Not sure how it's still such an effective way of getting low entries after all this time using one (slightly modified) trick every time :p

That game isn't even available in my region apparently... :)

Oddly enough, the last giveaway I joined was actually one of yours as well - maybe it doesn't really count as breaking my spree if I join this one... :)

Maybe people are just lazy, or don't look at urls, I have no clue either... :)

https://steamcommunity.com/app/8830 is pretty empty, but I remember reading reviews and stuff in there once upon a time. Maybe it was all erased for some reason? You're not missing anything...

Sounds like a plan! I didn't see a thing... :)

You're a rot13ten and generous person with all your hidden giveaway tricks :) thank you!

I have bought games I already owned, unintentionally (not counting bundle extras). I'm not a trader so the extra oops keys just got dumped into my electronic trash can, my virtual shredder, also known as Steamgifts, where keys disappear never to be seen again.

I've also collected other things like music (records/tapes/CDs) and have definitely re-bought albums accidentally. Which is especially funny when it's something I have never even listened to once in the first place.... which is actually a lot of them... hmm... sensing a common theme here...

Well, these different youtube things are a single trick, so if you've seen it once you can enter all of them... :) Lately I'm too lazy to make any effort at a real puzzle... Sigh. :)

I dunno about physical albums offhand, but there's a huge pile of unheard music at Groupees I probably own more than once... Not sure how they are still going, maybe there's a lot of people like me carelessly rebuying things... :)

Good luck! :)

Hahaha! I keep forgetting about my Groupees music purchases. Coincidentally, just yesterday I logged in to Groupees for the first time in months and started listening to songs from one of their Celtic music bundles. I really should download all that stuff before their servers disappear ... .

You know, the way Groupees has been limping along lately that's a very good idea... :( Sigh. Hopefully there's a big "click here to get everything" button, I don't want to download a thousand songs, one song at a time... :)

I think they have a button per "album" as well as one per song. I don't recall seeing any higher-level ones, such as per bundle or one "give me everything" button.

I would have thought a script could be written easily to do it, but I confess I've never delved into that sort of thing, so maybe I'm wrong.

Checking the music tab at https://groupees.com/purchases ... Ugh.

I don't have the strength for clicking download 1250 times... :( Maybe I can just imagine listening to the music instead, that's pretty easy... :(

I find that harder to use than the bundles tab for some reason. It doesn't seem to have all of my music on the music tab, and I hate those continuous-scrolling pages where it only loads a small amount (for me, down to "C" in alphabetical order) until you scroll down, then it loads more and jumps the scrollbar around. So frustrating!

But yeah, the bundles tab is basically the same -- find the bundle, click to expand, find the album, click to "reveal this product" if you haven't already, then click "Download" to download the album. It's going to take a while. Maybe that script is a good idea after all ... .

They have a new bundle today. It's expensive for them, too: $3 preorder. I think that's the most expensive preorder I've ever seen on Groupees!

Ouch, I have no idea if some music downloads are missing, wouldn't even know how to check. :( I guess thinking I've downloaded everything would be worse somehow than knowing I hadn't... :)

Maybe I should send Groupees a support request, not sure how to word it though... :) Hey, could you give me a simple link to download all my Groupees stuff before you go out of business just for fun, no particular reason at all? :)

Three bucks, eh? Probably full of bestest games ever, right? No chance they will try to burn preorder junkies with a pile of, well, junk... :)

You probably bought it on Switch, its a fun game. Good while you're on travels. I do not usually buy the same game but I buy bundles so games from the bundles can repeat. Give it out here. I'm glad I managed to get into this one and take advantage of your laziness, anything more complicated I would have gave up. Went to bed but couldn't get to sleep, so its not ideal to figure a puzzle. XD

This is a game I really like, strategy and RPG. Never had the chance to play consoles when I was younger so now I am getting into these JRPGs. Liked what I saw on a release stream. Thank you for being generous, also have sometime to play games yourself. Recently started playing 7 days to die, I'm addicted but the zombies also scares the soul out of me. I am the type that focus on what they are doing and any slight sound triggers my anxiety. Kept looking around even though there's no zombie around hahaha!
Have a good day ahead, Cheers~

Hmm, afraid I don't have one of those, mine's on Steam... Oh well... :) I suppose counting bundles everyone around here has oodles of examples, too many to count... :)

I'll try to play this sooner or later, but there's a good chance if I don't install something immediately I'll just forget buying it... :)

Haven't tried any zombie games, not my sort of thing really... A million years later DayZ is still in my wishlist, probably won't ever buy it at this rate... :)

Good luck! :)

My bad, I just assumed it was Switch since its 1st released as an exclusive then. Well, I've not intentionally buy the same game but I rarely buy a single game apart from bundles too. I started buying games only 1-2yrs ago. When I see a game I like, like Kingdom Come this month, I'll get the bundle.

I've rather purchased same bundles to give them out. 1st time I bought multiple bundles was a mistake. Bought from Otaku, HeroCraft bundle. There wrote 10x for 7++ I thought that means 10 games for that price which I deemed reasonable. I went to get my codes but was shocked there were 10 sets! HAHAHA XD Yet to give them out as I'm not sure if the codes still work with those revocations. That was the 1st and last time I've bought out of Indiegala, Fanatical, Humble, GMG.

Go install Octopath, its totally worth it imo. I was so interested in it when it came out and was hoping it got on PC and IT DID! However, the price was rather shocking but not totally unexpected. It'll stay on the wishlist for awhile. Hahaha

I'm not into Zombie games nor Horror games either. I don't like the thrills nor the scares. Its a great survival and building game though that's what I am hooked on. There's an ingame mechanic called Blood Moon which sends a horde of zombie to you every 7 days in bid to end you. I find it stressful and turned it off. Even without it, the game mechanic generates a wandering horde at you if you stayed at a location for too long. Sometimes I just want to build, mine, or farm but the horde can get annoying as they destroy everything in its path. T_T

Personally, I wont recommend DayZ unless you're an FPS fan. I am not after knowing more about gaming, not even interested in it nor PUBG, etc.

Thank you for wishing me luck! Your avatar gave me the impression of an Japanese Cat, feels extra blessed. hahaha XD

I thought Kingdom Come was a lot of fun, should play more when my computer's upgraded... :) Was kinda slow... :( Seems like 3900X is out of stock everywhere... Maybe if I wait long enough they will get cheaper... :)

I think Otaku / Gogo bundles were good for buying bulk quantities of "games" - for bot farms or giveaways or I dunno what - but apparently not so good for paying the developers... :( I wouldn't be surprised if a lot of your old codes were revoked, if you ever tried to use them or give them away... :(

I'll take a look at this game, probably on the weekend... The price was a bit high for a big question mark, but I heard a lot of nice things about it so eh... Hope it's not a big disappointment... :)

I'm pretty useless at FPS games, I bought a copy of DayZ for my nephew but really it's not my sort of thing at all. Shooting people, online, early access, zombies, survival, basically everything I don't want. :) Only thing it's missing is battle royale, but I guess that genre hadn't appeared yet? Oh well. :) If it's ever 5 bucks I'll probably buy a copy just to make it go away. :)

Yes, that's the one! :) It's from the "Tonari no Totoro Orchestra Stories" cd booklet, "TKCA-72453" if that means anything. :)

Yeah, the base game seems fun enough when it came out. I was anticipating alot but not as much as seeing it as another Witcher 3. It came out with bugs but its still not game breaking. I bought my system this yr, I cant use Raedon system here, where I live its usually very humid and Raedons emit more heat than GTX. I had to get a RTX 2070 tho initially I wanted a 1070TI but it was phased out.

Otaku/Gogo bundles rarely interests me. There has to be a game I'm interested or I see the games are interesting before I buy to giveaway anything. At the end of the day, I still have to consider exchange rate too since I am 1.4x to USD but I'll still not go to grey sites. :)

I will not buy DayZ for my nephews, the community is not the kindest. I will give Dont Starve Together rather :D I have 3 nephews, they have not come to the age of gaming. Though my eldest sis's kids nephew and niece practically are mobile gamers. I'll not intro gaming to them unless I know of it. My other 2 nephew from my 2nd eldest sis have stricter disciplines. XD

I hope you'll not be disappointed by Octopath. Its certainly a good JRPG though it could get grindy if you want to complete the game. I am ashamed to say that I had yet watch Totoro it just happens to past me and I had been watching mostly Shounen main stream animes. Mainly only One Piece, Fairly Tail, BLEACH, Naruto which I finish Shippuuenden recently. Since I have alot of other interests like Asian Dramas, varieties, English Football etc and of course gaming. I do find Totoro adorable. Have a great weekend ahead :)

Tried Octopath Traveler over the weekend, turns out it's good, but I guess a lot of people knew that already... :) Only played about ten hours, but I can see where getting all the things in this sort of game could be super grindy... And I've only found four people so far, so I assume there's four more to find, plus all the quests I haven't heard about yet will probably take forever... :) Hopefully I'll be able to play more before some new shiny thing appears and I forget about it... :(

Thank you! :) Hope you have a good week! :)

I'm really glad you gave it a go and liked it. 10hours aint bad. Almost wanted to reply you near the weekend so to serve as a reminder to try it out for another weekend. Yes, its super grindy but its a fun kind of grind though you'll get burned out eventually like me on 7days2Die. Trying to learn the game yet trying to survive hard. 100hrs+ but yet to have a base as I restarted the game numerous times. hahaha

If you can get 20hrs on it, I think its well worth imho. I wish you the best for the rest of the week too. :D

I've bought quite a few games I already owned, sometimes intentionally. I think I've had three copies of Watch_Dogs (the first one) now: one on XBox 360, one that was really cheap on Uplay, and then the "complete edition" or whatever it's called on Steam -- because it was cheaper than buying the DLC on Uplay.

(Aside: I still loved the first game when I played through it again a few weeks ago; I've never understood most of the poor reviews. I started Watch_Dogs 2 for the first time last week and, while the world itself is an amazing recreation of San Francisco, the graphics are impressive, it has a lot of stuff to do, and some of the hacking stuff is more interesting; the story is woeful, the characters are boring stereotypes, and the script and voice acting are simply awful. They also managed to destroy the easy-to-use mouse and keyboard controls and introduce a horrible mess of hotkeys, and remove most of the fun of the car chases from the first game. The sequel isn't terrible, and if I'd never played the first I'd probably think the second were amazing, but if they'd retained all that stuff from the first game it would have been so much better!)

There are a few other multi-platform titles that I've bought intentionally, too, and old games I used to have in boxes that I've bought again on Steam. Oh, and of course, buying bundles that happen to have games I already have in them, but I assume you were more interested in unintentional "rebuying".

I bought a bargain key for Evil Genius a while ago, not realising I already had it. At the time I'd thought to trade the key away, but it was bundled over and over by GMG for a small percentage of what I'd paid the second time (let's not even mention the first time) ... and other than a few short hours on a very, very long time ago game rental when it was first released, I haven't even played it yet. sigh I'll give the spare key away on here when I get around to it.

I'm sure there have been others, too! My memory isn't what it once was, unless I've forgotten how it used to be. That's entirely possible, too.

Thank you fiftykyu!

Hmm, I remember playing a tiny bit of Watch_Dogs but hmm... That's all I remember. Seems I stopped and never went back to it, wonder if I bought something else or got bored, who knows? Seems this is a familiar story... :)

Let's see, https://store.steampowered.com/app/3720/Evil_Genius/ doesn't look familiar at all, guess I've never even installed that one... I think it was free from GMG at some point, but I don't know how. Maybe they gave it away if you bought something, like with their current Summer Sale? Hmm, just can't remember... Oh well... :)

Good luck! :)

I think the only time I bought a game twice by mistake was the day I got Brothers: A Tale of Two Sons on gog, and then I realised I already had it on Steam.
I was pissed at myself and decided to keep the gog copy, as a way to tell my future self: "check your steam library before clicking that shiny buy button, you moron!" 🙄

I have some games on both GOG & Steam, most were from the GOG connect thing but once in a while I'll get them on GOG for no particular reason, or if the Steam version doesn't actually work, or if I just forget... :)

Originally I'd planned to get only the GOG games that weren't available on Steam but it's easy to forget to check... Usually I'll remember buying a new game, so the duplicates are mainly old stuff that didn't cost enough to matter... Oh well...

Somehow, even with a game in two different places I never seem to play either copy... :(

Good luck! :)

Gotta say, it never happened to me that I bought a game I already owned. My budget's been tight for a long while now, so most of my games come from bundles. Dupes happen there, but they are not as tragic as buying a $50 game twice ;) - we're on a giveaway site after all and this is precisely the reason why I dound my way to here.
Another way of acquiring games for me is my Steam wallet money, but these purchases are so precious, I value every one of them high and I don't forget what I've bought.

So thank you very much for the chance at this, fiddy. Finally something I'd actually play \o/ :)
In the off chance of me winning this giveaway - I'll be away from 2nd to 11th of August. Would you kindly wait for my return? hope that's not asking too much.

There's a lot of good games in bundles, unfortunately there's also a lot of bad games in bundles... :) It can be tricky to find the gems, when they are buried in a big pile of stinky stuff... :)

No problem, if you win I'll wait. :) Plus, that would give me time to install the game myself and see if it's any good... :)

Good luck! :)

Frankly I don't know, most of the time I don't do it intentionally, probably bundles containing games that I already own would count.

Though, there is one scenario where the developer of a game sent it to me for free for helping to test it out from a barebones state until release...but because I love whatever the developer put out (and because there were preorder incentives), I actually preordered the game, stored it in my inventory (back when gifts were still a thing) and waited until release - then used the Remove Game feature in Steam to nuke the testing copy.

I might have also re-bought a few games I owned on other DRMs just to own them on Steam, but my memory's honestly fuzzy on that...huge collector shame 😅

Either way, appreciate the chance! :)

Aha, that's interesting! Kinda like some people make badges for games they enjoyed, give something back... :) Although badges cost less than a whole game... :)

But now I'm remembering keeping gifts in the inventory, sigh... :( It sure was great for giveaways, buy stuff on sale, save it for later. And you never had to worry about bad keys, or a shady winner just saying the key was bad, or anything... Guess publishers were upset at all their lost profitz from traders... Sigh...

Yeah, I can't remember all sorts of stuff. Especially during Steam sales, I will buy a huge pile of cheap junk plus a few I actually want to play - and then forget buying them... :(

Good luck! :)

Did you ever buy a game you already owned?

Trick question, these days you don't own a game, you own a license

Several copies of small indie games I've enjoyed over the last few years come to mind, all of which I've bought to give away.

Technically I bought a couple of bundled games that I already owned on the Twitch Launcher, but they don't count right? :3

Hmm, think I'd probably give away more games I've enjoyed, if I ever did more than idle everything for the precious trading cards... :( Sometimes the reviews sound good but I'm waiting for a better price, usually end up buying a copy for myself later... And forgetting to play, of course... :)

Hmm, I dunno how the Twitch Launcher works, can you get free games from it somehow or other? Or do you have to buy them? Not sure if it counts, not sure if it matters... :)

Good luck if you try for it! :)

If you have Amazon Prime you can redeem a few games to your account each month. Unless I've missed some they've "given away" 138 games so far, some of which are surprisingly recent - for August one of the games is Automachef that was released literally a week before.

I was sure they also sold games at some point, a quick google search told me it was a short-lived experiment that shut down less than 2 years after its debut, so they only give away games now :v

Good luck if you try for it! :)
