I feel silly for doing this GA, because everyone who wants this game has bought it already, right? Right? It's well worth the price. Especially if you don't buy any of the dumber AAA stuff that gets sold at full price these days.

For the longest time I did GAs with no level restriction at all, but I feel like that's no longer viable; L0 is too easy to reach and there are just too many bots/alt accounts. I still don't want to completely exclude people who really have nothing, but there are groups dedicated to giving away games to people with few wins that serve the purpose better now, I think.

As someone who has played the crap out of all the Baldur's Gate games: you really don't need to have played BG1 and BG2 to play BG3. Although BG3 references characters from the previous games, it does so in a way that doesn't even match up very well with how the stories ended (and, fortunately, contains no meaningful spoilers for the events in those games).
That's not to say I don't recommend playing BG1 and BG2, because they're good games in their own right, but I wouldn't call them prerequisites for BG3, nor would they be less enjoyable after BG3 (well, except for the obvious difference in sophistication).
