I don't think I'll ever find the hidden GAs. I have gone through the images for hidden codes and found nothing. I tried to find hints in the text, but my brain cannot find anything related to a code without guessing. I did a ton of guesses using first letters of sentences/paragraphs. I checked all the images. Checked every page. I tried to look for clumps of capitals, spelling errors, strange punctuation. Couldn't find anything. It's there, but my brain is not wired properly to find it.:<

Great puzzle! But what was the clue for the unlock pattern? I managed to guess it. π

Yeah, I was only able to back solve that one, after just randomly guessing a simple shape. I can see that I should have gotten it from that prompt, and might have if I were stuck for longer than I was (which was a few hours, mulling it over while doing other things).

I mean it still doesn't quite make sense why it's a U, sure if you read 'you can let yourself in' there's a few U sounding parts but nothing really indicating to look out for sounds like that or specifically anything like that at all so this one imo was like meh cus it was purely guessing, i got it cus you typed 'y u' at the start twice when replying to people stuck in it but i still think, like idk if there was something indicating sounds or to pay attention to how words sound but i feel like there wasn't which made it eh. luckily the rest was fine

"You" can let yourself in, indicating that the word/letter "U" is the key to letting yourself open the door.
I also would not have gotten it without the "y u" hints.
Comment has been collapsed.
that's a stretch, i mean looking back after you know the answer it'll be easy to connect it with stuff like that but in the moment that wouldn't really give you anything imo, I feel like 'You can let you in' would be better because you'd be questioning why that sentence is like that and perhaps lead you to U because i feel like 'you can let yourself in' is like just open it not really indicating the You or lead you to find U but idk

I solved it by a luck after a lot of random guessing. It took me a while to kinda get why that's the answer, but I still also think it's a stretch even knowing it.

It's called a 'Chicken of the woods' at least that's how I found it, apparently it is also named 'Chicken Fungus'

Oml!! That sounds like a dish in itself xd

I got it's called a "wild chicken" mushroom.

Yep found it! Learned a lot about mushrooms in the last 24 hours :p

Great puzzle again, can't wait for the next chapter! Gotta say, I never found out the actual mushroom that corresponded to the Chicken keyword but figured out the count by elimination. Thanks!

Really cool puzzles! On this site it's still something new for me (I almost haven't looked at the forum so far). It reminds me Notpron form of game (where I got stuck on the early stages :P).
Many thanks for doing it! <3

This was so satisfying. The studded door really tripped me up but then you said "let urself in" which just clicked. I was trying the "drapes" before by doing an upside-down U which wasn't working.

Hello! I was thinking the mushrooms were ordered by the # of mushrooms.
For example the Morel mushroom has 3, the Chicken mushroom has 4, the Girolle mushroom has 2, the others have 1
So I thought the # of mushrooms was giving the ordering ;)
Well done so far. I didnt spot any hiddens so far in Chapter 1.

Woo! Got it. That was fun. Looking forward to the next parts. And once again: thanks for the hint for Q1. Made me stop being lazy and checked out the MGS5 puzzle you'd hinted at to others.

Finally got it! The mushroom part was really though for me, as not being a native english speaker I didn't realize it could refer to "xxxxx mushroom" as, in fact, the proper mushroom name (In spanish mushroom is the general concept, and the name of some specific mushroom is its own word - no need to add mushroom to it. So I saw Blew... and translated it as a verb, not thinking it as a mushroom name).
On the prologue I failed cause I thought itstoohard could only use text and I discarded the possibility of putting emotes (thus trying a "p" for "thumbs down", trying to use a letter that imitates the shape of the hand). That made me to drop trying and in my frustration I didn't even looked for the hidden ones.
In this first chapter, however, I feel like I cheated - too many hints read so I do not feel like I solved it; instead I feel like someone was patient enough to point me out in the right direction on every wrong turn I did.
And on the other hand, I haven't got the hidden giveaways - but that's fine as the main plot is what mattered to me.
I located something suspicious horizontally and vertically; but my knowledge of Gimp-fu is not good enough. Brightness, saturation, even trying changing to greyscale gradient... zooming in I get just some pixel dots. In fact, now I hate Gimp and Gimp hates me. It's mutual.
Anyway, that is me attempting this type of puzzles without much experience - and thus failing to realize things you see right on once you have done enough (same as escape rooms - I have done three of them and I usually get overwhelmed as experienced friends seem to solve it on fast-forward; it takes away the joy of solving it by yourself). What it is important is that even after all those missteps, I am actually quite happy to be playing your puzzle, and I like to have to take time and effort to solve it. Also, your put in scene of the puzzle is quite enjoyable in itself. It's like having a dungeon master taking their time to drop a riddle in-game. Thanks a lot for that effort and the many hours it has entertained me.

Found them. I was clicking in the image and copying it and telling Gimp to create a new image from clipboard... which seems NOT to import the metainformation. You need to save the original file and then open from the file system.
At least I'm glad that the solution itself was something I checked. A bit annoying that I was misdirected by a technical behavior.
So... foiled again. Curse you, Gimp! You will rue the day you crossed in my path! (insert dramatical evildoer voiceover here)

Thank you Gordon. π
Both for the story and for the fun of the puzzles.
And of course for the GA's.
You are creating a masterpiece here!!! ππ¨

I came here looking for the answer to that pattern lock and just realized I was trying the right shape all the time... Figured out I was just drawing it carelessly so it would skip a dot or mess up direction... Oh well...
