Some people say that it is good if you are able to read. Maybe they are right, maybe they aren't, though I tend to believe reading is a good skill. Being able to read probably also makes it a lot easier to notice that the period at the end of this very sentence is actually a link to a hidden giveaway. But who would care about that anyway?
