There are so many more people deserving of random gifts on SG and the way certain people decide otherwise boggles my mind. Not to mention the amount of people with very real issues that don't bother to make posts because either they're smart enough not to expect empathy from SGers or just as likely they're afraid of being ridiculed.
LOL, I'm just one to be upfront about stuff, too many people in this world just complaining about nothing nowadays.
To be honest, I don't know why SG has become a hub for the mentally depressed. I do, however, try not to belittle those with legitimate issues, even if this isn't the place - some of those people need to seek proper help from a REAL person, not feed their issues into the ether for someone to sympathise their plight.
As for gifts vs. luck & wins - just look at my account :-P hopefully some of those people winning my gifts appreciate them.
