No, I just simply hate heartless and soulless thank comments. Thanking before winning is like saying "Thanks for nothing." I figure that is you are going to thank people for nothing, then that is exactly what you should get.

It's more like thanking the GA creator for the chance to win.

Not sure why you see them as sarcastic "Thanks for nothing" comments. I thought sarcasm doesn't translate well through text!

I consider thanks genuine under one condition. It has to be after winning. Knowing that you actually won, it makes everybody happy and grateful. Do you think that the people that enter the Publisher's Clearing House sweepstakes are thankful knowing that there is a 100-million-to-one shot at winning? Nope. Many people even throw away the envelopes unopened knowing that they are not going to see a cent of the money. Until the prize patrol/cat shows up, everybody should keep their gratitude in check.
