Description

Happy Tax day!
I've been enjoying the sequel to RoR recently and thought I'd give someone else a chance at it too.
If you're worried about how Risk of Rain did with transitioning over to a 3D environment. I'd say personally, it still very much has that same feeling as the original. Now I need to get back to having my ass handed to me by those damn imps.
Good luck, and hopefully this goes to a good home.

Thanks a lot

We had a lot of fun with the first one. I am actually afraid that the third dimension ruins it, but I will gladly be wrong about that. Thanks a lot! :)

I was worried about that too when I first saw it, hell even when I caved in and picked it up. At least for me I find that the 3D doesn't take away from it. It's definitely Risk of Rain, the same feel as the first. The lemurians, vagrants, wisps, imps, other mainstays are all there. And really they've tweaked the attacks and their patterns some to take into account that the player can now move about in 3 dimensions. So it really balances out, the only real gripes I would have are about not being able to see what's going on behind you, making enemy flanking much more dangerous that in ROR, but the ability to move in more directions ameliorates that.

I didn't like the first one that much; but my friends really did.
Now, I think this one looks great, whereas my friends are quite down on the art style.

Yep to each their own, although I would say that while ROR2 is a third-person shooter perspective. The feeling of and a lot of the strategies and mechanics are very similar to the first game.

That's the best part to me: it's the best of both worlds! Same gameplay, feeling and atmosphere, just more appealing visuals. I like plenty of 2D games, but RoR 1 did not sit well with me.
