Description

Thus ends my 6-month embargo of SteamGifts for an unjustified 2-month suspension for refusing to send gift to cheaters.

And I will still not send gifts to cheaters (re-gifters, duplicate wins, etc).

I applaud your conviction.
Welcome back and best of luck...

Why not just use sgtools to prevent these people from entering your giveaways?

Because it's a pain in the ass. A slight pain in the ass for me; a big pain in the ass for people who wish to enter them and probably won't even know they exist. I wish to simply give away my extra game keys to those who will enjoy them...or at a bare minimum actually activate them. That's what this site is for. But if it can't do that effectively, then its rules needs need to change. Instead, immature moderators take personal offense at the suggestion that something is broken and punish those who want the site to work. It's all-around pathetic.

Odd. First I've heard of a suspension for this reason. I support you on this. I wear my own black mark on my account for a similar situation with pride.

Usually, site moderators don't execute personal vendettas after disagreeing in a discussion thread with the suggestion that the rules aren't working. Usually people that immature don't get promoted to be moderators, but this one recently had.

Btw, I was looking at the comments of one of your recent "not received" giveaways. If the winner is banned, you can request a re-roll now. If you have the key, no harm in hopefully passing it on to someone else. And if that person's account is not in good standing, your record will just remain the same. So at worst, you're maintaining the status quo.

No, I don't have those keys any more. I used other means to give away my extra keys while I was boycotting SG. It wouldn't be much of an embargo if I'd just saved them up.

Still, it would be interesting to see how many of your "not received" winners are now banned. And if some of those giveaways were for games from cheap bundles, whether it would be worth it to spend a little to obtain the keys and re-roll to clear your record somewhat.

My record is clear, as far as I'm concerned. Every one of those I refused to gift to was a serial cheater at the time I requested a re-roll, but site staff refused my requests. That's on them, not me.

If anyone disagrees, they're welcome to put me on their blacklist.

You do not have permission to comment on giveaways.
