Thanks! If you know how to play an intrument, go play it, and record everything you play, that way if you come up with something good, you won't forget ho to play it. If you want programs, I recommend "Sibelius" or "Guitar Pro". If you are talking about about EDM (dubstep, house, drum 'n' bass etc..), I'm afraid I can't help you as I don't have experience composing that kind of music.
