Hello!
I've been thinking on the way I manage and organize my Steam Library and I noticed I rely a lot on two things - wishlisting games i want and ignoring games that I truly don't want (asset flips) or already have in another library.

Now, SG clearly is able to get information from my wishlist, what makes me imagine that the website also has information on my ignored list. My suggestion here is: could SG read that list and hide these games from my giveaway list? I imagine it would prevent games from showing up on the giveaways page and if I entered the page for one (let's say, via a train) it would give me a message saying the game is in my Ignored list (similar to the way it gives you a message if you already own the game or something similar).

I've thought about that suggestion for a while but never felt like writing here since I was not seeing a lot of changes in the site. The last changes with new support staff and the main page poll gave me confidence to go ahead and write this. I don't intend to track this thread, so if anyone has additional suggestions feel free to write, but don't expect a response from me.

Hopefully that's helpful to others besides me, and I hope something similar gets implemented in the future =)
Thank you for reading and have a great one!

I agree with this suggestion, if it is possible I'd love to see it.

Juttenberg makes a compelling argument on the subject here:

Ah, ESGST coming to save me yet again. I was not aware of the "Ignored" tag - just activated that, let's see how that goes. But in principle seems like a decent solution. Thank you for that!

It wouldn't have to be mandatory, just a box you could check at https://www.steamgifts.com/account/settings/giveaways like 'hide games you already own' which is entirely optional.

There is something called 'hide games you manually filtered' I'll see if I can figure out how to use that.

That's what I had in mind - nothing about changing how things already are, just adding another option for filtering. But never mandatory. I ended up not even explaining that because the "Ignored" and "Hidden" tags from ESGST gave me enough visibility to manually filter out these games I already own on other platforms

I came here to suggest the very same thing, there's little point entering a giveaway for a game I already have on another platform (Epic/Itchi/GOG/etc) plus there are certain overpriced shovelware that I don't want to waste points on, like "The King's Castle" whose 260-dollar store price won't be curbed by Valve which is giving undeserved credit to people donating its keys (which I'm sure were free or under a dollar to obtain) and when we accidentally enter them (more an issue with IG where you can rapid-enter giveaways) it wrecks all the points you wanted to invest in fairly-assessed games.

If you have these games Ignored on Steam (I do), you can enable the "Ignored" tag on ESGST. I have mine as bright red tag that shows me immediately if I should avoid entering a GA for a certain game, either because it's trash but I haven't manually hidden it before, or because I already have it on Epic / GOG / Itch, as you mentioned.

It's not a native solution but it works

It's a great idea. Add one more toggle to the Giveaways Settings page, like this:

6 . Hide games ignored on Steam?
Yes
No
