hey everyone i made a thread a few months back, maybe longer about my newly started youtube and it still hasnt really gotten anywhere and i see people's who have WAY more subscribers and views than i do with around the same time on youtube as me...
I've already advertised it here and id rather not make a whole bunch of threads advertising it to get people to watch, so let me ask you people who have a bit of subs and views how did you go about getting that? if i really should just advertise what are some places i should do it at?

I think there are some people who use bots to increase the number of views and subs. Even the big companies do the same thing.

I've VERY recently started my own channel.(I don't plan on advertising here, because I'd feel guilty doing so.)

The only ways to get out there really is.

1) Get a shout out by a famous/semi-famous youtuber
2) Shamefully advertise your channel places.
3) Get lucky.

Number 3 is the most needed honestly. You can get shout outs and advertise, that may even get you 100k subs, but if your videos aren't good you will only get 100 viewers even withe 100k subs.

I don't think its about luck, if you make good videos people will watch it and if not they won't.

Starting out is luck. Making good videos is what keep people coming to that channel.

Yes, but it takes time. People won't really find your video if it has non-interesting title or dont have any likes, comments since your video will be on the last pages of youtube.. thats why "likes and comments" on a video really matters.

So much luck is involved because your success is determined by other people's interpretations of your video topics. What you think is a good video might be shit to most people, no matter how hard you work on it.

Yup, my channel started to get views when official battlefield posted my vid on facebook then kotaku magazine posted it etc, its all about luck or help.

Make quality videos, interesting keysword.. peoples will find your vids, also you've got only 16 vids and rarely making any videos, your videos are only commentaries.. you wont really get big auidence with normal game commentaries, there are thousands of commentators out there.

Searching subs here os SG is a very very very very x ∞ bad idea, because you won't get ppl who really likes to see your videos + ppl will dislike your videos just to troll, this will be only ppl who ant free game from you and not to see your videos. Try to make something funny in any game, the best choice is Minecraft I think, but without making giveaways here if you already aren't popular.

Without meaning to sound like an ass, your channel lacks consistency, In fact I don't know what your channel is about. Weird shit made in source film maker? I cant say that's something people will want to subscribe for.

good content = advertising by word of mouth
people will share good things they see.
sadly bad content can get the same results e.g. the kid jump rope music video

well I don't have that big of subscribers yet but

What I did is First, I did gameplay videos for a certain game, when I see its kinda not getting that much of an audience I tried learning some advanced video editing skills and made a PV/music video

That made a BIG impact and then I also tried making informative/benchmark videos, that also gain some views.

After that a game that I'm previously playing got just a recent port into android and tried making a video out of it. There I learned that if you're one of the first who made a content about a new thing, it will quickly gain popularity. So after that, I decided to make some guides for a newly released game, which is borderlands 2. That's where I hit a minefull of audience, I was overwhelmed by the views from it, it was like 2k views in 3 days (That was big for me since I'm still not that popular)

So TL;DR to your question, make videos about new things and you'll surely gain views

I'm currently averaging 500views/day so I guess that pretty decent

Here's my channel

Don't care enough to actually look at your profile, but if your vids are related to games available on Steam, make sure to link your Steam profile to your youtube profile and link/categorize appropriate vids if you haven't already. It's not much, but getting those vids into the appropriate game hubs adds one more audience to them.

One way i heard that streamers get views is by doing something unique. What i mean by this is do something people havent already done. Don't do something like a Call of Duty gameplay, because i doubt anyone will watch that. Instead buy a new game on Steam and showcase it. You may get some extra views.
