SOOO.... Today a very nice person wanted the sonic all stars racing, and the dream cast collection i had left over from the sega bundle i bought today. He offered me 30 cards for both games, which i thought was already too good to be true,(he threw the offer on my trade page) after the trade was done i was astonished to see how much he had given me in trading cards. i went through and he gave me almost 4 dollars in high value cards. I was shocked because most people are very cheap skate when it comes to card deals(the ones who give you 90% csgo cards ect). well this nice generous person made my day and i hope that something good happens for him. :) And if that person happens to read this post i thank you very much.

It just goes to show that there are very generous people out there :) Ill be sure to pass it on to someone else :)

its called not having money to do it at the time. believe me i will create one when i get a bit more stable on the cash flow. im not one to give away junky free games or stuff like that, when i do make one itll be good. i promise.

with all those cards you should be able to afford a game unless you're planning on badge making with them. Just saying that's all. Bundles are a good starting point for a GAer.

And how is this related to the thread?

Can this be considered begging?

Comment has been collapsed.

Im not begging. Im saying that when i do a trade most of the stuff i have to trade is games that were free at some point or another, i never once have begged for a game and never will. when i play a game i usually take what drops and trade it for something. thats how i work. every once and a while im able to buy a bundle and give what i dont want to friends, or even trade it on steam trades if they dont want it.

TheWyrdfell isn't accusing you of begging. poepee is asking about the fact that you never created a giveaway, which has nothing to do with the thread, and could be interpreted as asking you to create a giveaway

All the 3 cent cards they will offer is why I refuse to take cards in trading. Then again, never stops them from trying to offer them, or offering bundle games for an item I want keys for.

exactly. i usually trade whatever i can get because i dont ever have much to trade in the first place, im kind of a hard grinder you could say. but i slide by every now and again :)

I only agree to a card trade when I'm the one picking the cards.
Most people do have some cards in their inventory worth more than a couple of cents

i understand. usually when i trade. i get whatever cards come my way. im not one thats like a nazi on cards. if im able to take what they gave me and use them for a badge or something then it makes me happy :)

So what you're saying is, you're fine with getting 4x the value of your games, but you don't like getting lowballed? That is pretty damn strange, dude.

Noooo thats not it, i believe in fair trading, not scamming or low balling. I just happened to get a trade this time that was out of the normal. so i talked to the guy and he was extreeeeeeemly nice. he enjoyed what i had to offer and he wanted those games very badly(which is why im assuming he offered so highly in cards). he was just very generous in his manor of trading and i was like wow.

I am very polite and straight forward with what i offer in trades. and thats what keeps people coming back cause if you show you care to the people making the trade it in turn gives them a good feeling as well. Im a firm believer in doing whats right and never once have i had the urge to think about screwing someone over in a trade. im not in it for profit, just working towards games id like to play at some time or another, and if it takes 1000000 cards to get it ill do it. but along the way i make sure the other trader is happy too.

Well, I was sort of joking, there is nothing wrong with getting a great deal if both sides are happy and no one got scammed, I myself had a few amazing trades that made me smile like my dumb avatar. :)

Just so everyones clear This is a post about how some people go above and beyond what the normal is. this wasnt about who can lowball who or who hasnt given away a game or who got the most cards ever. Everyones story is different and not everyone is able to do certain things in life cause of hardships that have fallen upon them, or events in life that are just unpredictable. Well what im getting at is even though things may be hard for some, there are people that would stop at nothing to put others before themselves. This was just kind of a "Hey there are really nice people out there and they deserve recognition" post... even if my story was over a few cards, its the bigger picture of similar instances happening all over and not just virtually, it happens in everyday life sometimes and a lot of people dont get it, thats why i said id pass it on too.

I had someone at the GOG forum give me a copy of Shadowrun Returns as thanks for helping him choose a GPU to buy. That was completely unexpected and very nice.

It's always nice hearing about people not trying to screw other people over, it kinda sucks how often it's the other way around. I'm not interested in the game so I won't enter, but have this instead (Surgeon General's Warning: this poster is not responsible for you clicking links to the rest of tvtropes. To be honest, I think he just couldn't be bothered to sell the cards himself and/or was unable to because he hasn't spent money on the market before.

I may not Seem like i give to the steam community alot but every once and a while i like to give codes out of the half-life platinum pack and every so often IF the code works(not guaranteeing it) someone gets all the classic half life games in their library to enjoy. No one can resist the crowbar weilding, Headcrab smashing good time of the original half-life series :) Who knows i may drop one in here soon if i can find my old countersrike or blushift cd cases :) dont worry if it doesnt look like a normal steam key haha. this is a bunch of numbers like they used when valve first came out. :) ive tried giving them away in the give aways section but there is no giveaway for the half life platinum collection. last time i checked. i also am not sure if the keys are 100 percent un used or not so i dont do give aways for that reason haha

There are definitely nice people out there!

This isn't game related, but I'm a member of freecycle.org which is conceptually similar to steamgifts, only with physical goods. People give away all kinds of things (some recent examples are boots, a CD player, turntable, porcelain, etc.), but in today's email there was something special...

OFFER: Thanksgiving meal (Nassau/Suffolk County)
My family is looking to help a struggling family with a last-minute
Thanksgiving meal. Please only contact if you are unable to provide a
Thanksgiving meal for your family this Thursday. We are from Nassau but
are willing to travel on LI.

I'm in the middle of responding to that post, not because I'm in need, but to simply thank them for their heartfelt generosity. Holidays are often thought of as the best of times, but for those less fortunate, they can be the worst, and this truly moved me. :)
