Is your wallet big enough to face this?
Now Flying Bundle is drunk. We have to do something about this possible epidemic of alcohol abuse in the bundle industry.

Since I apparently will soon have a massive influx of libations on hand, I suppose I'll have some to share :)
And really, who am I to deny someone a drink?
But don't touch my single malts, I'll bite you. :P

Can I just make it clear before you get us in trouble with UIG. This ISN'T a bundle. It's a sale on this - http://store.steampowered.com/sub/79771/
We're just using it to keep the site active while we prep our new bundle...

It wasn't in my intentions to get you in trouble, but if you specify this as a sale rather than a bundle, than I will take this post down. My apologies.
It popped up in my newsletter via email that this was a "bundle*

I see it now >_>
I saw it on reddit, but apparently it's not a bundle...

Depends on your interpretation of bundle. Look at Bundlestars. One may argue that its entirely different as this giant "bundle" is labeled as a pack on steam, but technically this mordor bundle is really just the base game+season pass or goty version.
Regardless, they are named "flyingbundle". Sure humblebundle and bundlestars have "sales", but they also have stores.
Anyways I don't see what the big fuss is about.

Additionally, it is advertised on Reddit as a "Bundle" So I am not sure if that individual is affiliated with you or is just another thread creator who is unaware of this sale vs bundle

Hey Rach, yeah the person who posted on Reddit is not affiliated with us, here is our official Reddit post - https://www.reddit.com/r/GameDeals/comments/3n9pw8/flying_bundle_save_70_on_the_giants_game_pack/
We're just trying something new while we prep the website for the launch of our latest bundle on Tuesday. If this goes well we may launch our own Store when the new website launches.

Cool! Sorry if I caused any tensions or misunderstandings ): I feel terrible!
I'll link this post to your Reddit post!

It's really no trouble... I just understand the rage we would get if people thought we were trying to sell them a $10 bundle.
Also Industry Giant 2 is fairly new. UIG don't want to bundle it yet, nor have the stigma attached of it being a bundled game.

Ah! makes sense. I do understand the negative sentiments that might arise if people thought this was a bundle.
Thanks for the clarification!

as a weird-ish side note, it's cheaper to buy The Giants Game Pack on steam for full price if you live in russia.

So what we've got here is a pack of 3 games that were made in 2004, 2010 and 2015, the two older ones have more negative reviews and the one from 2015 has more positive reviews, but keep in mind that a new game starts with 0 reviews and only time (and more players to review it) will show what people truly think about the game. The same pack on Steam costs $24.99, while Flying Bundle pack costs $9.99, so if you decide to purchase from Flying Bundle, you pay ~40%.
In other words, for a pack that contains considerably old titles that weren't really accepted positively and a relatively new game from the same company with positive reviews (which is only the case due to low amount of reviews to begin with) and chances are there will be more negative reviews over time, you pay ~40% of the regular price, with that in mind, I would say that this kind of deal is a sub-average at best and not really worth it unless you are a game collector and don't really care about the price anyway.

You also get individual keys, something that you wouldn't get buying it on Steam. In theory you can save $5 on Industry Giant 2 and get two free games to do with as you please.
Comment has been collapsed.
I wasn't trying to suggest that people should buy it on Steam instead, rather that they should avoid it (in my opinion), but speaking of this bundle vs Steam, is getting individual keys really that appealing for average gamers? I mean, when you buy on Steam directly, your games are already activated on your library which is the same thing as when an average gamer activates all the individual keys from bundle. There is no advantage in that aspect unless you want to use some of the keys for trading, giveaways or re-selling for higher price.

Industry Giant 2 is a remake of a game from 2002. It was a very great game had had a lot of fans back than.
So that deal is for lovers of the "giant" games. And even if they not have the best reviews on steam, they have still a lot of fans.
Comment has been collapsed.
If there are really many true fans, I can respect that, I just think they deserve better deal.
Comment has been collapsed.
A Better deal how? It took us days of negotiation with the publisher before they let us drop the price to $9.99, at one point they refused to drop below $15. This is the best possible deal we could of got for you guys and I find the insinuation you're making, that we're trying to rip people off offensive.
Comment has been collapsed.
With all due respect, nowhere did I say that you're trying to rip people off, I simply stated the obvious and as far as I know, I wasn't the only one who mentioned the higher price as an issue, that however doesn't mean that people are not appreciating the effort put into this and I'm sure we all understand that for a good deal there must be two sides to come to such agreement in the first place and if the publisher didn't accept anything lower than this, then it's naturally something Flying Bundle can't help, then again people who aren't affiliated with Flying Bundle are probably unaware of this, so thanks for this clarification, but still you have to admit that comparing to the prices of other bundles people are probably more used to from Flying Bundles, from the point of view of a customer, this bundle feels kinda over the top, all things considered.
EDIT: The website states that there is over 70% saving. 70% of $24.99 (Steam price) is $17.49 which means people would pay only $7.5, but the bundle costs $9.99 which is more like 60% saving, or was it calculated from a different price?

Sorry if I seem a little off, I've been up working since 7am and it's now just gone midnight... lol
As I mentioned earlier, we're using the downtime between bundles to run a little test and see if there Is any interest in Flying Bundle selling more than just "bundles", if the interest is there, this could eventually lead to a Flying Bundle Store, once we launch our new look website.
I understand that the current discount isn't the best, but it's also the biggest official discount this particular pack has ever seen. Obviously we're not GMG just yet, publishers aren't ready to throw games at us for massive discounts, as we evolve as a company, our ability to drive down prices will increase.
As for the pricing and discount claim, we were originally only going to advertise the pack as being 60% off, as you pointed out, $9.99 is a 60% discount on $24.99. when we managed to get individual keys for the games in the pack, rather than 1 key for all 3 games, we decided to base our discount claims on the individual prices of the games included in the pack, rather than the pack itself, the pack is also £18.99 in the UK and 24.99 EUR in the EU, so the discount for anyone outside the US is well over 70%.
If anyone feels our discount claims are over inflated, I'll happily speak with the website team and have this remedied.
Comment has been collapsed.
Thanks for the clarification about the discount %, just a thought, but I can imagine that a gamer who is really interested in the pack of all the games in this bundle, might actually compare the price of the bundle with the price of the same pack on Steam which is $24.99 simply because for those interested in the whole pack, activating all the games individually or the whole pack on Steam has the same effect so they would probably compare the bundle price to the price of the same pack on Steam and ultimately come to the same conclusion about discount % like me, that might be confusing for them, but of course after your clarification it does make sense.
Anyway, there's a lot of room for discussion here, but you mentioned that you're tired and I respect that, so I will leave you alone now, have some rest, take care.

Ehhh.... possibly?? But as you know there is no shortage of competition out there. Also, I don't think this pack of simulator games is the right thing to be able to help show you whether there is genuine interest or not. I feel like simulators are very much a niche genre and the demographic for them is small. I think you may need something that appeals to a wider audience to test with.

When I read your post, I immediately thought: $10? NO ... And then I was laughing so hard when I saw you had placed that as an option!! XD
Anyways, it might be cool and all that they negotiated the price all the way down to $10 but that's still waaaay too high in my opinion. Especially since I'm not interested in simulator games.
Though I can understand the publisher since one of the games are from 2015 and they want to get some money and don't want it tagged as bundled aswell. But it's not for me at least. :)
