Went from a cheap logitech 30 euro mouse/keyboard set to a G513 but as with any brand you start to get dead rgb's, why they only make them with still is beyond me, except the G610 but that would lead to double/ghost typing.
Anyway i returned it, and bought a G815 and haven't read about 1 dead rgb event for a year since it's out, only the keys are so smaller together which makes me hit caps by accident a lot and ctrl + c to copy and paste is also a lot hit and miss, i already turned off the comma next to the number 1 key. Is this all me and a case of getting used to or is this just how these type of keyboards are?
Feels like typing like a drunk person.

Hardware change always take time to get used. When I got my G402 was weird for me, at least.

Thanks hope so, atleast those 5 G buttons are a bit redundant, if they wouldn't be there you would be better sure you are already at the left most of your keyboard and thus closer to your caps and the rest.

It's this one https://www.alternate.nl/Logitech-G/G815-LIGHTSYNC-RGB-Mechanical-Gaming-Keyboard/html/product/1566043

Probably just a muscle memory you need to build up. I bought a new laptop at some point and some of the keys were arranged a tiny bit different. At first I'd constantly make certain mistakes, but eventually I stopped making those mistakes

Changing hardware is always fun. Even when it feels weird in the beginning.

Like most things that feel weird in the beginning and then turn out fun. ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)

Sorry had to make that joke.

Why would someone want an all black keyboard. -_-

I could care less about rgb (though it's nice) but it makes the keys on most keyboards too black, if the g513 still had readable keys if rgb would have been turned off i'd just kept it.

"Das Keyboard 4 Ultimate mechanical keyboard is a completely blank keyboard for badass typists and gaming enthusiasts."
In another website: "This keyboard has no inscriptions on its keys - A perfect to impress your colleagues!"
I'm finding this waaay too funny xD

When i changed out my keyboard it was horrible for the first few days and i thought i'd never get used to it but suddenly i got used to it and it was way better than the old one :)

Yeah that's exactly the same feeling i got now, like i hope i didn't bought another dud. The postive for now atleast the keys are sure quiet and fast, there is even a volume button, and seems i even can get doom eternal free with it.

Looks like a nicely designed keyboard; however, I'd likely have issues typing with it too as it reminds me of those "chiclet" keyboards that Mac is infamous for.

Actually, these are mechanical keyboards that couldn't be more different from the scissor-switch Mac keyboards that I assume you're referring to. I actually love scissor-switch keyboards for typing, though I've never used one for gaming.

took me 2 months to get used to a new keyboard and 1 week to get reaccustomed to an old keyboard i was using, depends on person and on hardware differences

I didn't know you had a G513.
I bought one perhaps a year ago and I'm happy enough with it.
Hadn't notice any problems with LEDs... Yet!

Yeah not that long ago i read in a computer magazine how easily it would be the replace the keys, but i probably screw it up anyway.

Wish you luck with your G513.

I've been using the same Microsoft Natural Keyboard Pro for... I don't know how many years. However much I paid for it way back when, it was worth every penny.

You say that the new Logitech Gxxx keyboards have smaller keys that are closer together? They're pretty standard size, so what were you using before that the Logitech ones seem smaller and closer together by comparison?

For what it's worth, I do not like mechanical keyboards - everyone raves about them, but I tried two different keyboards for two weeks each and did not like them at all. I will gladly take my ancient, light-less membrane keyboard over mechanical and crammed with unnecessary lights any day.

Well the keys themselves probably are the same size but the other one had more room around them, like you could go with a cotton swab around them, with this one not, and they are like pressed against eachother, but biggest thing is the extra G keys on the left side (don't need them) but i also tend to miss the ctrl button a lot more dunno why.

Anyway i did get more accustomed to it in the meantime, apart from the slight mistype or misclick (of the ctrl button) here and there, it's decent just pray the leds will stay up this time as there were no reviews at all for this one yet.

Their G915 was 250 euro.... i believe.

Yeah, I don't like the G keys on the left - they're good if you're really into MMOs and need the macros, and kind of a waste otherwise. I like their simpler keyboards without all the G keys better.

I think your old keyboard was actually pretty abnormal, if you could fit a cotton swab between the keys. It must have been really big or had really small key caps.

Anyway, good luck, I hope it works out for you. :)

Yeah and that's not something i am into.

What i do miss from the g513 that it had a great soft wrist rest, but with later and more expensive models you don't get one anymore, for some reason.

Thanks, well atleast there is some guarantee, just sucks when you see it happening right after it expires. Seems to happen with all brands though that it can give dead leds, they need to change the technology, or easy key replacement.
And if the led does die, atleast it wouldn't matter if you keys could stay white, but no they become pitch black when it's all off, so you can't see a thing what you type when it's dark.

Oh and not even mentioning when you got a good Logitech mouse (i also had to return one because it kept auto scrolling).
If you go wireless how quickly the battery runs out, even when you don't use the RGB. yet when you get a 30 euro keyboard/mouse combo you can do 2 years with a battery.

Logitech Orion seemed very cool, but also had it's issues.

I love Logitech mice, but I've always used wired. I have a G502 Proteus Spectrum and there I find the RGB lighting is actually useful - I use one color for low-DPI for first-person games and another color for high-DPI for general desktop use and RTS, strategy, RPG games, thus I can at a glance see what mode my mouse is in.

Seeing the keyboard to type fortunately isn't an issue for me - I learned to touch type many years ago so I don't ever need to glance at the keyboard. Though I also rarely play in complete darkness, generally preferring dim lighting to reduce eye strain.

It is odd that the more expensive keyboards don't include a wrist wrest - it's such an inexpensive part, you'd figure they could include it.

Well, being objective, just because a keyboard is mechanical doesn't mean it has to have lights.

That's true, and I've seen those. It seems like those without lights also lack any kind of convenient media keys (volume, mute, etc) which I use on a regular basis. It's either every feature, or a bog standard keyboard with no additional features whatsoever. And I know you can turn the lights off (which I did when I had one), I just hate paying for stuff that I don't need or want.

Though I guess that's all moot as I discovered I didn't like the feel of mechanical keyboards in the first place. :)

Very true, I think I don't know of any keyboard on the market that meets those requirements, usually those with dedicated media keys have lights or extra keys for macros.
In the end it all depends on personal taste and preferences, as in your case that you just don't like the feel of the keys on a mechanical keyboard.
The good thing is that you managed to try some of these and discovered that you don't like them, so now you are more satisfied with the one you were already using :) (or so I think :P)

You're absolutely correct. It's pretty refreshing to realize that the "better," more expensive thing isn't actually better for you than what you already have. :)

I do pretty much any typing for work from home for this reason. The keyboard at my work desk is so different from mine at home my typing speed is embarrassingly slow and I don't get anything done.

had changed my mouse from a dying msi ds100 (double and triple clicking + damaged mousewheel) to a Intellimouse pro ... the biggest difference is the size and the sensor ... this mouse is as long as te screen of a Samsung galaxy s7 ... not that it's bad, i've got very large hands, its uncomftable for me to use small mouse and the sensor is a night and day difference from 3500dpi to 16000 ... but for drawings i stick to 2600-3000 ... my keyboard i use atm is one of many cherry kc1000 ... got literally 4 of these from a friend because they got literally tons of them an would get thrown away ... the only thing i ripped of was the oddice keys because i had the bad habit to lay my headphones on my keyboard where the shutdown button was ... the only thing that broke on these was the spacebar because i wanted to clean the keyboard in the dishwasher and i was to careless that i ripped them in 2 parts ... one sidenote ... if you clean your keyboard in a dishwasher make shure, that you remove all keys, put them in a laundry bag and wash them in a washer ... make shure, that before you plug the keyboard in, that the keyboard circuitboard and the keys are dry ... if not, then you'll get corrosion inside your keyboard ... a thing i might change is my display and maybe a new keyboard ... got 2 samsing syncmaster and only one is able to display 1080p and i want to buy a cherry mx board 1.0 as a brown
