Making a website just to test a game sounds inefficient, you can do private pages on itch.io instead
You should typically do some testing rounds even if you're planning to release in Early Access. If your game sucks and is unplayable, people will want a refund more than they'll want to follow development

like phil said do a private test with friends or small invite group, people you can fully communicate with. make a discord channel, use itch or just upload game to file sharing site and pass out links.

This is for those here that develop games... I have a few questions I hope you can input on. These questions are as follows:
Would it be better to create a website and test a product in private or would it be better to release it partially and open source it as a project of change from the get go. There are pros and cons to both and I mean. I Understand it depends on myself too but I've still not really talked with any devs and I've 2 games in secret development ready for the public at early access level. start of story mechanisms done. So anyone here thats been through it and can input on something I may not see to be coming as an issue or something I should focus on would again. be appreciated. After all the only way to do right is to ask all.
Note: Not sure if right category. Mods move if its wrong. TY.
