I don't mean to be rude, but I think Deadwatch's point is: You randomly jumped in, apropos of nothing, atop someone's reply to someone else, to personally insult them. When TinyPurple (much more mildly - no personal insults, immediate disengagement when confronted) jumped atop YOUR reply to someone else, you snapped at them about how rude it is to butt into someone else's conversation. Hypocrisy is preaching one thing (ex: You shouldn't "enter into other ppls discussion.") while doing another/the opposite (ex: Entering someone else's discussion.)

sorry, didn't mean it as an insult. My experience with Edge happened to be really really crappy (admittedly, it's probably been a year since the last time I tried it).
Personally, I generally stick to one browser, and except for testing purposes, I don't know why someone would want to use two different ones, but wouldn't mind learning why.

In my case it's pretty suitable, although it's not my main. Firefox is well, my favorite since long time ago idk maybe 12 years ago - it's my main.
I also use Chrome and Opera.
Tinkering around is fun. It's not different than playing with Linux distros although I don't main Linux (have them as my servers).

I have been a Firefox user for quite a bit, and I am considering switching my main browser to edge. I always considered it the slickest and fastest browser, but it missed out on certain add ons which are now available. Also, recently I had a couple of compatibility issues with Firefox, which edge just breezed through (which should not be a thing, considering how old firefox is).
I would recommend you give it a try again. I did, and I'm pretty pleased with it.

Edge seems quite ok for an IE, been using it for a while and it's about the same as Chrome, so no options or customization of any sort. None of those are usable as main browser of course since they lack even basic stuff like 3 rows of tabs under the address bar. :)

You can try it. The Netscape could prob. not even play the videos or even start the benchmarks...
In the Benchmarks you can see Edge is fastest in the JetStream 1.1 and Octane 2.0. Also it's faster than Firefox in Kraken JavaScript 1.1

Here is my logic. Their product is as good as their competition. The competition (google chrome, search) has a choke hold on the market. If they are willing to pay me to use their good product, why not? It benefits both of us; I would get rewards and a decent browser, Microsoft gets a piece of the market. As a plus, competition is fostered, preventing google (note the big corporation) from running rampant. Besides, what else am I supposed to use for search? DuckDuckGo? Average at best.
PS: We don't get rewards here in Canada. It didn't influence my own decision.

It has some basic extensions, even then they're missing functionalities. Only use Edge's if you are interested, else better stick with Chrome's well established extension store.

And Palemoon would be a 100. When did people start imagining that something like Chrome that has 2 options and uses IE's network options is some kind of great, even good? Sure it might be good if it works for you out of the box, but if not there is nothing you can do.

I feel like chrome got super bloated in the last 2-3 years. I stopped using it completely, keeping only Firefox. Edge seems considerably faster than both now though. Especially startup, and it's fairly light on the resources.
It's also got adblock, lastpass and a few others of note.

I use Edge when i run into something that needs Flash. Since Win10, I don't have Flash installed as a standalone product on my system any more, I just use the one in Edge. It is a helluva lot faster for this one purpose than keeping that fat blob people called Chrome around. :)

I actually installed it a couple days ago to test it out. I don't really use Edge but I like to keep up with it's development once in a while.

Have you tried Palemoon? It's like a good Firefox of the old, none of the useless UI degrades and almost all the new tech under the hood. Doesn't work for everyone I hear but I could never go back to the Chrome clone new Foxes have become.

Great news! I was wondering when a userscript manager extension will appear for Edge, and finally it's here. Seems like Tampermonkey is unlisted for now, I wonder if there's a similar way to link to Enhanced Steam, as it should be waiting for the MS extension exclusivity period to expire before it can appear in the public listing.
