Closest things to Heroes are Mutant X and The Tomorrow People. Neither of them is exceptionally good, though. In terms of characters and script(at least in the first season) Heroes is vastly superior, so you might want to skip them. If you're a Sups fan, you definitely should check out Smallville. Another great super-hero(ish) show is Buffy The Vampire Slayer. And Arrow's looking pretty good so far. Do stay away from Agents of Shield, though. Some good fantasy shows(excluding Game of Thrones, of course, because everybody probably already told you about that one) are Hercules - The Legendary Journeys, Xena - The Warrior Princess and Legend of The Seeker. Supernatural and Angel are good examples of perfect blend of fantasy, adventure and horror. If you don't necessarily want a show with ass-kicking people with super-powers, magic, or swords, you can try one of the following: House, Castle, Sherlock, Elementary, Lie to Me, Chuck. In the sci-fi realm I'd recommend, first of all Firefly(nothing quite like it) and after that, there's Star Trek TNG(best Star Trek BY FAR), Dr, Who(definitely the reboot, not that piece of shit from the 60s, no matter how many years it aired), Andromeda and, since there's yet to be a live-action Star Wars series, you can try The Clone Wars(the animated series). If you're in the mood for a sitcom: Friends, The Big Bang Theory, The Nanny, Married With Children, That '70s Show, Seinfeld, How I Met Your Mother or Scrubs. ALL of them are hilarious. And,of course, you REALLY should at least watch the first episode of Game of Thrones and see what you think. It really is in a league of its own. It would be my favorite show ever, if not for House's pure brilliance.

I can't believe that not a single person in this thread recommended Twin Peaks. To the Black Lodge, all of you.

Not gonna read through all of these, so probably it was said already: Supernatural (mystery, fantasy, action-ish)

Don't take seriously people who suggests you to watch Walking Dead, they're just trying to play a really cruel joke on you with no punchline

Anyway check out True Detective, Luther, It's Always Sunny In Philadelphia, Louie and Hannibal

TWD would be fun if they could condense all the episodes in no more than 2 seasons.

If you like CSI, then I guess NCIS is the best choice. The L.A. spin-off is more similar to Hawaii Five-O, a.k.a more shooting and less forensics.

Also a fan of The Big Bang Theory , Hawaii Five-O and Blue Bloods. Really sad when How I Met Your Mother ended...
Breaking Bad and Hannibal are also great choices.

Veronica Mars! One of the most underrated shows ever, but one of my absolute favorites.

While it's not one of my absolute favorites, I have to agree. Very underrated.

Game of Thrones, Breaking Bad (brilliant enough to be mysterious), True Detective, Dexter (FYI, it gets shit after S4), Misfits (underrated), Luther, Vikings, Hannibal, The Walking Dead, The Wire (!)

These mostly fit your requirements. Chuck, Sherlock, House of Cards, Orange is the New Black, Boardwalk Empire get a honorable mention. You might like Doctor Who too, but I didn't.

Misfits is great. And terrible, in parts, but mostly great. Interesting superpowers, frequent body-disposal, that guy with power over milk...

If you're into fantasy you should watch Legend of the Seeker. It has 2 seasons and is really good. Its Lord of the Rings-ish and Game of Thrones-ish. I like it a lot. Its based off books called The Sword of Truth series by Terry Goodkind. Best books I've ever read right alongside The Hobbit.

Breaking Bad, Blacklist, White Collar, True Detective, SHIELD Agents (sometimes its nice xD), Castle.

Breaking Bad - A chemistry teacher who found out he has cancer starts cooking meth with an old student to have money to leave to his family and becomes the top meth cooker who makes the best meth ever.

Blacklist - A master criminal turns him self in after a long time he was on the run away for the FBI's, CIA's and all of the others reach and turns to work for the FBI as a payment for his freedom and he gives away BIG TIME criminals names and helps stop them - The show has great criminals in it that do things in a very original way and never been seen before drama with characters and its WAY better then other shows that have a guy help the FBI solve crimes and such.

Whiite Collar - Like in above, a master criminal (in here a master thife) is cought by the FBI and helps the FBI solve crimes for his "freedom", the series has many turns and many many special moments and amazing robberies planed by the main character and the bonding of him with the FBI agent who caught him.

True Detective - Hard to explain as I have just started watching it.

SHILED Agents - A nice series that has some of marvels famous and beloved heroes such as Agent Colson, Asgard heroes and enemies, the mystary of how Colson lived after getting killed in the movie The Avengers.

Castle - A writer who writes murder and thriller books has a murdrer kill like in his books and then the police suspects castle but its a "copycat" and he helps them by giving him his point of view as a writter and it has a LOT of funny moments and has great jokes in the show and I love it.

Continuum - Time travel with a heavy dose of cyberpunk and a side dish of conspiracy theory.
Covert Affairs - good ol' spycraft.
Helix - Half procedural drama, half survival horror.

If you don't mind hunting for fansubs, also try Garo, Shibuya 15, or a few seasons of Kamen Rider. For the latter, each season is basically it's own stand-alone story with little to no real continuity; Faiz, Blade, Double, OOO & Wizard are my personal favorites.
