I've barely touched the series myself, so I'm hopelessly useless for your question, sorry to say. What little I do know is that the series has several sub series with a story that spans those titles, but I think you can be safe from info dumps outside of a subseries. So pick a sub series and go with the first in that.
The oldest games along with the DS saga never released in English, so I'll leave them unlisted
Iris Saga
Mana Khemia series
Arland Trilogy
Twilight Series
Mysterious Saga

So lately a couple games that look right down my alley pop up on Steam .
Atelier Sophie and Atelier FIris
I have been looking for something to actually play for a long time , and those 2 look like something i can finally replace Dota with ( at least for awhile ) .
So i was curious , since i went on an adventure and found out there are about 20 of those games , + a dozen side games.... is there any actual story relation between them ?
Should i just dig my PS2 and try to get the games that came in the 90s and 2000s ?
Or can i just play those 2 without worrying about being clueless as to what are they talking about :?
Also Escha & Logy is one of the games... It also have an anime which you should be watching right about now ... just saying >.>
